If I block someone, will they know? I assume not, unless they try to look me up for some reason... but will they be able to see my posts and will I still be able to see theirs? We belong to one of the same chat threads and I just am not sure how it will render if I block them. Thank you!

They will see that you've blocked them on their block list page but they wouldn't receive any kind of notification about it. They would just get an error if trying to go to your profile, offer on your trade lots, or do any other actions that are disallowed. They would also still be able to see your posts, but you would not be able to see theirs

It just skips it entirely. I think if that person has the most recent post on a thread, then the main forum page or topic list pages will still show their name as having the most recent post, but no indication of the post itself will show up for you

Ok.. thank you. I'll have to think about this. I didn't want them to know I had them blocked.. didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings... so maybe I'll just deal with them. sigh

Idk what issues you're having but don't worry about hurt feelings if it's something you don't think you can work through. I know I've been randomly blocked by people I thought I got on with decently and they didn't indicate anything was wrong, those ones bothered me. The ones that don't are where I didn't even know them. Or in one instance another user and I were having a discussion, neither of us were mad or blocked the other, but one of their random friends did block me because they felt I was too mean to their friend. There's many reasons to choose to block or not. I personally just ignore stuff from a user if I didn't get along with them. Blocking honestly doesn't do much, the ONE thing I wish it would do is keep you updated on if they changed their UN so you'd know exactly who you need to try to avoid. I'm sure of those who blocked me a couple have changed UNs a few times and others may well be inactive now 🤷‍♀️ it'd just be nice to have that one little update to the block feature.

Thank you very much for your input! I appreciate it very much. And I know you are probably right.. about not worrying about hurt feelings. I just know that I am a sensitive person and if I found out someone blocked me, I'd be hurt. =/ I don't want to do that to someone else. It's honestly fine. I can deal with it and just overlook them. For now anyway. If it becomes worse in the future, I will most likely proceed with blocking.

I'm sorry you have had some unfortunate experience with people blocking you. I looked at the page Darkrai linked to and I only had one person blocking me, but I don't think they are even here anymore because there are numbers behind their name. Who knows, I guess.

Yes, that would be a handy feature. I'm sure staff have considered it, wouldn't you think?

I remember a long while ago I had someone who out of no reason blocked me... noticed he blocked me when I tried to send him a birthday gift. He's in my group but I never talked to him... But after a while he unblocked me.... lol

I hate trolls it would be nice if the thing actually worked as in blocking erases a person from your presence instantly like instead of seeing their name almost everywhere >_>
