I am trying to see what is the most useful stat spread to aim for with my pets
I am currently training 3 pets but they are not high tiers, one is even still tier 1.
Kawauso (Main Pet) - Tier 6 Luna- (Secondary Pet) - Nearly Tier 4 Marshadow (Just started to train) - Tier 1
But I have seen that High Strength, High HP seems to be the main way to go for a stat spread. I do the battle quests with Kawauso everyday because that is the pet I really want to train unless there is a way to do them with more pets so they all get EXP
I would use Tomes on Kawauso but they are unpredictable and make it harder to keep the stat spread they way needed.
What is your advice for this and what stat spreads to aim for?
There's no wrong answer unless you dump everything in speed :p.
You'll find the most common answer is to favor health - especially in the earlier tiers since it is the easiest way to squeeze out wins. A High Health High AP build is the easiest option early on. You'll commonly see a suggested 10k health for your final build since most top tier weapons have a healing cap at 999 - the 10k maximizes the healing (i.e. 10k health with a weapon @ 10% heal would get you the full 999 HP Heal. A pet with 20k health using the same weapon would also only get a 999 HP Heal).
I find the -fastest- way to move up tiers quickly is to favor strength for the lower XP costs, but that's best for users who already have a strong understanding of the BC Mechanics and already have access to weapons to compensate for the lower health.
Like said, once you have a solid understanding of battling and how to best utilize your pets with your armory, essentially any build will work unless you choose to dump everything into only one stat type. The easiest build for first time or inexperienced battlers is to favor health over the other stats. Having higher health gives you a bigger buffer for opponent attacks to help you last longer in battles with non-ideal weapons and scrolls.
my preference is keeping str, def and speed even and hp twice what str is.
going from 500 to 600 str is a 10% ish increase in damage and in def is a 10% increase in how much each icon blocks going from 500 to 600 hp is a 20% increase in how much you heal, how mych a damage you can endure and how much potential a pheonix quill can heal. hp is a lot more useful but no stat should be left completely.
Just my personal approach.
