Hi friends!
What are you working on writing right now? A novel, novella, one-shot? What's the plot? How much have you written? I would love to hear what you are all up to.
I'm about 40k words into a fantasy novel about fairies. Writing it has been super fun, but I've been dealing with writer's block, so the last few weeks haven't been productive. I've been trying to remember that it's just the vomit draft, and if it sucks, I can always cut stuff when I do the first round of edits lol.
I'm in the super early planning stages of writing...something? I don't know that I'd call the end product a novel, but maybe. The setting is in my/my husband's modified DnD universe, so it's a grim high fantasy world, with a lot of cosmic horror present, hahaha.
I want to follow the miserable adventures of my character Ambrose during a time where he was a part of a Warlocks Guild, despite hating everyone around him. The span of time was originally going to be ten years, but I may expand on it. I have to make...ten warlock characters, aside from Ambrose and Crania. And then I have to make an outline. And then I have to actually write the thing. e_e
I do have a lot of the basics planned, though, and I have one arc in particular with a sort of mental outline. I might condense the work to just follow that arc, and leave any further exploits for a later project, or make it a series or something. I'm excited to actually work on it, and I'm using a little character history piece that I wrote for Ambrose as a tonal jumping off point. It's going to be very nasty, and very evil, but very fun. :D
As always I'm juggling a bunch of different projects.
I'm currently writing three fics (two Game of Thrones and one Flight Rising). I'm also writing an original book series called Kafka's Men that's basically a grimdark superhero reverse harem series. MUCH MORE plot than steamy scenes.
Also roughly outlining a Minecraft fic that I may or may not write. Took me a few weeks to settle on the plot and name of the main character. SOOO many different names.
I've got a ton of projects I'm also working on knocking out right now. Most notably, I'm finishing up a few microsettings for a D&D 5e-compatible resource book today, writing some quick copy for a freelance client, and potentially working on making some stat blocks for a goofy D&D enemy book I'm wanting to put together!

[tot=thespacejamber] || [tp=thespacejamber] || [egg=thespacejamber]I'm working on a fanfic series based off "The Amazing Spider-Man" films that started with the idea of "What if Dr. Curt Connors had gained a Symbiote rather than turning himself into The Lizard?" and has continued from that jumping off point.
The first story was "Your Better Half", that explored the initial idea in 15 chapters. It was followed by the series "Did you Hear About..." that continues the idea in a short story format. The series portion has 18 stories so far and I try to update it every Sunday.
(Dunno if it's ok to post links, but it's up on AO3, where my author name is HeyManatee, if anyone is interested in reading)
I'm about 2k word into a scifi story about a scientist how discovered a tiny city

i'm about 4600 words into a story featuring my team from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team! i sent them off to Middle-Earth to rescue Lady Celebrian. they've slain the balrog and they're just about escorted her to Lothlorien.
pokemon and lord of the rings were both Big Deals in my childhood, so getting to mix them both into one story is wonderful to me.
I'm currently brainstorming a steampunk story where exploring "Dungeons" in pursuit of treasure and knowledge is so common place that there's a school that trains teens to do just that. It would be directed towards younger teens if I pursue it that is; the idea is too vague right now to do any major world building or anything.
wishing you all the best with your writing o7
recently i've been messing around with a low pressure forum/chatfic for my oc-verse. rn it's at 7000 words, which is more than i've written for all my projects combined. stupidly fun and is definitely helping get me more of a grasp on my characters' personalities.
