I have a Quester subscription currently, which means I get the monthly subscription item. I like this plan a lot, except for one problem: the date that I began my subscription means that I get the monthly item nearly a month after its release.

Today on 9/21/2022 this month's item was released, and right now, my thing on [link=https://new.subeta.net/cashshop/subscriptions]this page[/link] says: ACTIVE: Your plan will auto-renew on 10/10/2022.

What would be the easiest way to change when my subscription renews, and what time of the month would ensure I usually get the item within a few days of its release? If I would miss an item by doing this, should I cancel my plan + re-join next time the monthly item is one I don't like as much?

Additional info: The past 5 items were released on sept 21st (celestial scythe), aug 21st (sardonyx teeth), july 19th (firefly charm), june 19th (moonstone buttons), and may 19th (emerald seed pouch) respectively. I feel like the 22nd would be a good date, but I don't know the likelihood that the time items are released will creep forward and put me back where I am now, so I thought I'd see what others think.

It would be really nice if the item was given out on the same day of its release for everyone, but this might require staff to change the way payment and subs are handled to avoid abuse of the system.

honestly i would suggest not even bothering. my subscription tends to renew just before the new item goes out so i have to wait the entire month for the previous month's item, only to be taunted by the next new item 1-3 days later -_-

the release date on items has already "crept forward" quite a bit since the new subscription system was implemented, and there is no reason to think it won't continue to do so. there is every chance you'll get your new renewal date set up, only for the next month's item to come out a little later than expected and throw your schedule off all over again.

if you were going to do this, you'd want to wait to cancel your plan until after the item you don't want comes out, then restart it after the next month's item releases. for example if you cancel your subscription now and then wait for october's item to release before reinstating your subscription, you'll get that item but not september's.

ideally i would prefer if subscription items always changed over on the first of the month, so no matter when your subscription turns over, you'll always get that month's item within said month. but of course it's not possible to guarantee this, as artists get delayed, the person tasked with actually adding the item to the site may be unable to do so, technical issues may prevent it from being added, etc.

@ yokai i actually did this! i cancelled mine and waited for the next item, then resubscribed the day it was announced. now i noticed that i usually get the items as soon as they drop regardless of when in the month they do. though it's probably only been 4-5 months so im not sure if that will continue to be the case? [edit] yeah i just read what said. didn't even realize the date they drop had been creeping around -- so id be hesitant to say doing this would work long term
