Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I'm new, and still figuring things out. (Well, I played years ago, but the site has changed so much since then, I'm basically new all over again!)
I wanted to ask...what are the ways to get one of my pets to become a Nostalgic Ruffie? I'm getting mixed messages, and wondering if there's more than one way, and what I need for either method. Googling it, I see I can buy an Essence of Melody, specific instructions, and after doing a quest for a couple of items I should be able to transform a pet into the Nostalgic Ruffie. Am I understanding this right? If so, if my pet isn't CURRENTLY a Ruffie, will it be changed back into one? (I'm zapping my Ruffie in the meantime) Also is there any kind of price expectancy with those quest items, or a time limit? I might not be financially prepared for this yet. xD
My sister (also new) recently found something about Toys supposedly turning your pet into something. I found a Nostalgic Ruffie Toy, but it says nothing about changing a pet, and it's a good chunk of money, so I don't want to dive in without knowing what to expect. Does that do anything? Do I need anything with it? I can't even FIND answers on that with Google.
And lastly...does anybody know why the game Spectrail might be bugging out for me? I'd really like to play it, but it literally only lasts for a couple seconds then instantly gives me game over, even if nothing has happened that warrants it. Every single time. Is it a browser issue? (I'm using Google Chrome) My sister can play it fine on her computer but I can't figure out why I can't play it. Does anybody know what could be up?
Thanks, sorry for all the questions! I've been puzzling over this a while now. xD
I'm not sure about Spectrail, but for the Nostalgic pet, you can use either or just a directly. You would take that to Vanya in Arctic Frost. If you bring the instructions, you'll have to do a quest (no time limit to my knowledge) which will give you the toy. Then take the toy and back to Vanya to turn your active pet into a Nostalgic Ruffie c: It doesn't have to be a Ruffie already
Ahh, so I still need the Essence of Melody either way! Good to know! Assuming the quest items aren't TOO steep, it sounds like it MIGHT be cheaper overall to go the instructions/quest route. Once I'm able to afford the Essence of Melody, I'll see about giving this a try! Thank you so much for the info!!
if you're making the nostalgic toy from scratch you'll also need a , and vanya will ask for i believe 3 random items from thimble & co. remember that using the toy and essence of melody transforms your ACTIVE pet, so make sure the pet you want changed is active before you complete the quest.
as for spectrail, i've tested it in firefox and chrome and haven't had the game unexpectedly end. any chance you're trying to turn around quickly? the tail orbs actually have an annoyingly large hitbox, so even with 1 or 2 orbs you can easily run into your tail and lose. the game is a bit buggy in several ways, as it had to be recoded alongside some other games due to the death of flash player.

Thank you guys!!
Somebody actually gifted me an Essence of Melody (again, whoever you are, thank you!!) and I was able to buy the Nostalgic Ruffie instructions, complete the quest, and now Sage is Nostalgic! :D Essence of Melody aside, I do think it was overall cheaper to buy the instructions and do the quest than to buy the toy outright. At least in my case...I'm unsure how expensive the quest items could be for other users.
As for the game, I don't believe I'm turning too fast since it happens pretty consistently at the exact same time every game, no matter what I'm doing. But ahh, seeing that it's been a problem for a long time...I guess that's just the way it is and there's no way for me to play it. I am actually using a laptop, but it still doesn't work.
I guess there's nothing to be done about that one. Thank you anyway for letting me know!!
