I assume blocking a user stops them from commenting on your profile, smailing you, and sending you gifts. Would it hide the user's posts on the forums too?

Also I noticed that the block page has a column for users you're blocking and a column for users who are blocking you. Knowing that someone would know I blocked them makes me nervous ^^;

Yes, blocking someone prevents you from seeing their posts, but it doesn't prevent them from seeing yours. iirc part of the reasoning is that if a user writes something like an event guide, it won't keep you from being able to read the guide (or a suggestion or bug thread, etc., just anything that wouldn't be duplicated elsewhere).

It's against the rules to try and get in touch somehow with a user who has blocked you, so it helps to know who those users are so you can avoid them (and so you'd know if there was something that was bugged or an oversight, like a random trick-or-treat sending you to the house of someone who's blocked you)
