Hi! So I got one of my goal pets here already, but when making a pet active, it warns you that things may "happen" to your pet. What types of things does it even mean? I tried looking for a full list but can't find one anywhere... I just don't want to risk my pet becoming something else. :( My 3 headed rat creature is too perfect for that.

I don't think anything can change its species, but I don't 100% recall. I know they can gain a few points in Battle Stats ("Fearleading moans and groans and gains 1 point of defense!", etc.) that doesn't change appearances.

^^ Thank you!! I have gotten one so far that expanded the treasure inventory but that's it so far for ones that mentioned my pet. I reaaalllyy hope that is the case, that there's none that change appearances at all, i'm ok with stats lowering even but the color/species changing kinda seems against the point of sites like this! i was so glad when neopets got rid of all of those a long while back XD

Throwing a pet into the rift automatically sends the active pet, and that might change your pet’s species or color.

You're safe from changes like that by way of random events. Stat increases and treasure chest +1 can happen. You can receive a potion through random event, but it just goes to your inventory.

Some pet-altering items or activities (e.g., creating an Aeanoid, I think changing a pet to Nostalgic?, possibly some others) will automatically act upon your active pet, so take care when doing things like that.

Do be aware that a few items can alter your pet in ways you might not expect (e.g., has a Use option that will change your pet into Experiment , the grass camel), so it's a good idea to investigate unfamiliar items with 'Use' options if you're unsure of their effects.
