With all the awfulness here on planet Earth, I figured it'd be cool to talk about some space news.

This first color image from the JWST is just absolutely amazing! The official NASA live stream took its sweet time to show it, but President Biden was presenting and he was running late, so that's understandable.

There are even more images coming in starting tomorrow at about 8 am EST.

I'm blown away with just the preview from NASA, the rest may just end me.

I set an alarm and got up in the middle of my sleep time just to wait through that ridiculous delay but that image is worth it! Can't wait for more tomorrow morning!

But just in general, yay, pretty galaxy pictures and much needed as a form of happy peaceful imagery to see since the world is a trashfire right now.

Space is so cool! I love learning more about the universe we live in. It gives me hope tbh that no matter what's happening here on Earth there's most likely life out there on other planets that will continue.

I REALLY hope we discover life on another planet in my lifetime. That would be amazing, no matter what form it takes.

So incredible! I took an astronomy class back when the JWST was still being developed. Super exciting to see the photos now compared to Hubble's photos.
