Ever since the fetus pops were released I found them to be in incredibly poor taste, Not just the items but the descriptions as well. I feel like they are incredibly insensitive for a number of reasons and would really like for something to be done about them. I don't see how it's funny to joke about drowning or jaundice or to have a item that might be triggering to someone like myself who has suffered a pregnancy loss. There have been others who have voiced discomfort with these items only to be treated as though their feelings weren't valid and personally I just find the whole idea behind them to be offensive even if that was not the intention.

We have at least two pets that are literal roadkill the GY Terracoon and Antlephore. If roadkill is acceptable, while drowning isn't. Why are the zombies skins based on real illnesses fine, but cartoon fetuses aren't?

Where do we draw the line?

As a mother, I've always liked the fetus pop items and would be genuinely sad to see them go. I think the artwork is really cute and I use them to represent both fictional children in my pets' stories as well as my own living children through my use of them in pet TCs. I have not lost a pregnancy, but was forced against my will to relinquish my son for adoption. Its not the same as pregnancy loss, but its an extremely traumatic event surrounding pregnancy. I've never found the fetus pops to be personally triggering or inappropriate. Honestly, they just remind me of ultrasound images.

There are very, VERY few items on-site (even in CWs) that have anything to do with pregnancy/babies/parenthood and I would hate to lose such a large portion of them. If there was actually a decent number of items in this category I'd probably feel differently and not be so opposed to them being removed, but as it stands now there's nothing to replace them. Subeta has made it clear that they have no intentions of making more items related to pregnancy/babies/parenthood since suggestions have been ignored for years and it sucks for those of us who wish to represent those themes in a treasure or gallery.

The names and descriptions are rather cringey, reading them again after so many years. I think a good compromise would be for staff to tweak those instead of removing the items for people who enjoy them if its deemed necessary to make any changes. I've never really understood why people cling to the fetus pops while having no issues with other gross food, like the poop/blood ones, but I'm not opposed to changes that would preserve the cute art for those who like it.

I agree with Bison in that the item images themselves can be cute / neutral. But I also remember this isn't the first time someone has complained about these because they reflect something sensitive in real life. Other gross foods like a toenail clipping hot dog or poop lollipop etc is nasty yeah but they're really cartoony concepts and I've never seen those irl. But a diseased fetus?...

If the flavor name / descriptions were changed they would have a very different tone. I know they're for halloween but do they have to be named edgy things like diseased and jaundice? We do have normal candy for halloween on here and I think that eating a candy shaped like a fetus is halloween enough. For example if the red one was changed to Strawberry Flavor Fetus Pop, and the description changed to "This will make your baby love strawberries." would that be uncomfortable still?

Just an idea to put a positive spin on them, from someone not remotely in the realm of pregnancy.

I think that the item images themselves are neutral enough, and not too far away from other weird edible items we have on the site. I have no horse in this race because children aren't my thing but I would support changing the item names and descriptions to something less edgy! The 'humour' in the descriptions is a bit tacky, honestly. The site can do better than that nowadays.
