I can do a lot of different kinds of art. Seriously a lot lol. I'm decent at drawing, traditionally at least (I prefer ink/marker) - my digital skills (and technology to do so) aren't really there. I can crochet, but that's time consuming and kind of expensive. I can do origami, but I don't think anyone would actually buy any of that, except maybe those little star things. I can make little critters with sculpey clay and the like. I can do beading and other kinds of jewelry making. I can make graphics, but again, I don't really have any fancy pants programs like Photoshop. I toyed with the idea of making stickers, mainly because they would be cheap to mail out. I just really want to do something creative to sell, especially in the art market here because I am so sick of not being able to afford all the pretty pixellated crap I want, lmao.
I'd pick what you feel most confident in, because that's what people will feel most confident in buying if it shows.
From selling online and at conventions, I'd say most people sell digital art or nice scans of traditional art and prints. That makes physical stuff pretty cool to me. I bought a clay figure on Etsy recently and it's just so different from prints I've gotten before. Idk if I can go back now lol
Stickers are fun to design but there's the technology aspect if you're printing them and not doing one off style (drawing directly on sticker paper). You can use a site like Redbubble so you don't have to actually manage the printing and shipping. I've sold stickers before and it was a labor of love because I made them at home rather than using a manufacture. The amount of time I spent cutting them out (bc I'm very particular) for how much I made in money...They were relatively easy to sell though in comparison to commission work because stickers are priced way lower. If you want to make them yourself, you'll wanna pay attention to what paper and printer you're using. Laser printers (what most print shops use) can't print on inkjet paper (what most at-home sticker paper is).
I know you said you’re still learning, but I feel like the only art that really sells for USD and/or CSC here on Subeta’s art market is digital art.
In terms of other media, I would narrow your focus to specific products. For example, selling beaded phone straps (@ string_ting on IG) versus offering a wider range of things in different styles. I’m not suggesting you sell phone straps in particular, but just explaining a successful small business model I’ve seen on social media. Sell physical items you have confidence making as mentioned.
Physical items aren’t as popular by far on this site, but you can do a lot by curating a good looking Instagram as a front for an Etsy shop. Create an aesthetic and branding for your products. If any of your social media posts do well, consider using it as a paid ad. Even if you aren’t selling on Subeta, you could just buy CSC with the USD from an art side hustle in general. Good luck!

you got some? haha
i know this post is old, but you seem creative like me. Are you working on anything now?
