It seems to be a really slow process fragging just what I get from Vending everyday. x_x;
I fish every 3 minutes in the underground. You can feed your pets (if you do that), get some books to read, then frag what's left.
The Donation Corner when it has items can be picked up every 5 minutes, and sometimes you can find nice stuff in addition to fraggable junk.
During events, like now, you can pick up floating stuff to toss at the fragmentizer if you've completed your achievements.
Finally, you can play Slots to acquire lots and lots of fraggable items.

I honestly just vend and I get a lot of crystals. You have to vend at Ocean Depths. There's a lot of rare items and you get more crystals from them.
So things I do other than vending (although some a lot more seasonal than others):
restock from common shops. I like the Bake Shop because there are a lot of things that are just under 500sp. Spells Galore is like this too although it tends to get emptied out more than the bake shop.
save up old ornament boxes from Lumi (they're 2k from Melody and you get 2-6 items, excellent for fragging) and baking starting kits (you can get these for free from the the bathhouse so I don't recommend buying them, also gives you tons of items). You could open them right away but I like to saving them for a rainy day. I don't recommend the boxes out of season unless you find them in the DC or something.
floating items! Survival is almost over, but I've gotten probably 1k crystals just from fragging my flowers. It's a little slow but it really does build up. I do the same thing with Fireside items when they start to annoying and I don't feel like burning them.
battling normal/secret challengers past 10. You can battle for nice things like tomes/amulets (usually at like 50/100/150 wins for easy or 25/50/75 for medium), but they also give out stuff like crystals which is nice to frag as well. I also just frag everything from I get from battle quests, no questions asked. Just note that you can't frag anything with the 170/challenger loot category but I think for the most part, you don't get those past 10 wins.
buying cheap from seasonal shops. You can't frag currencies but you can buy something like Truffle Truffle from the Libertine Lounge (in 2010) for 1 token and frag that. It's an option when you're drowning in currencies and want move some out.
play slots! I save the oofa fruits and slot coins, since the slot coins are guaranteed to give 15k, then frag the cards, books, and sporks. You can get fragging items and if you turn in your slot coins to the coin machine, you can make some money too!
Hmm, that's not a bad idea. Def cheaper than buying a crystal outright.
I thought that was a once a day thing because you can't set an alert! :o That's good to know! <3 I hardly ever think about the Donation Center! uwu Thanks! Yeah, once I get these final two rounds of flowers, I'll be able to frag those. x_X I was hoping to reach them by the end of Survival, I think I'm like 1,000 or so flowers away. :P I hardly ever think about Slots either unless Drill sends me that way. << Then I'll frag the what not I get. Thanks for the tips! <3
:o Really?! I use to have it down to which vending machine spit out the most clothing or minions but had no idea which one spit out the most rare items! Thanks! <3
Thanks! That's actually really brilliant with the seasonal stuff! uwu I'm going to have to do that!
I've noticed that some items frag for more than others, is there a reason for that? OwO I imagine it's rarity.
Yeah, the stuff that's a higher rarity has a chance for giving more than one crystal. I don't know what they are off the bat though.
And no problem! A lot of my tips are from other players too, so it's nice to pass it on to someone else!
If it's by rarity, I'll muck about to figure it out. :3 Same! I think the sense of community on the site is one of my favorite things about it!
I also nuke battle quest rewards. I figure if I'm going to do those quests anyway and the items are fixed garbage why not? That's how I've amassed my stash anyway.
I get several hundred per day from fragging anything in my shop that is priced under 1.5k, but that's from quests and vending ^_^

Oh I worked out the fragging thing a while back. Fragging results by rarity (don't post in that thread, its necroed)
Everything gives out around 1.5 crystals, other than rare and super rare. Rare R66-R85 gives out 2.5 crystals Super rare R86-R99 gives out 3.0 crystals (but since crystals cost at most 2K sP, you are usually way better off selling super rare items).

When I'm trying for Crystals, I do quests with those that often ask for cheap items. Then I keep a tab open with each item (shop search) they asked for that was within the price range I could consider for the Crystals. And then when I'm done with the questing (I often take one quest giver at a time) I purchase all the items in the tabs! Sometimes they ask for things that are like 50 of them available for under 2k each. Just click click click click :)

The previous posts have great tips if you don't want to spend sP or want to casually, over time, build up crystals. What I do however, when I want to build up my store of crystals, is look on SubetaLodge for items above rarity 66 ("rare") and sort by lowest user price. As mentioned, rare items give about 2 crystals. So you can buy up any items below the going price of a Humming Power Crystal x 2. I'll check all the items on the first and second pages of results, and usually get quite a few items that are below the HPC x 2 value to buy up and frag (sometimes I'll see items in stock at Main Shops as well).
Another tip is close to what mentioned. While doing quests, keep an eye out for any items that pop up that are very cheap in shop search. Anything below 1k is worth buying, generally. SubetaLodge doesn't update that quick, so you'll sometimes find items that are cheaper than SL would suggest. Or, rather, you'll find that SL is reporting a very cheap price for an item that isn't actual anymore. Either way, as long as you keep the current price of a HPC in mind, and multiply by 2 or 3 for rare and super rare items conversely, you can buy up items to frag and save on sP as compared to just buying the HPCs outright.
