I'm just wondering if I did something wrong? I paid for one of the viruses when the VIP was started up again earlier this week -- when I go to the page it says I need to wait to receive the virus and I'll get an event, but obviously it's been a couple of days now and I haven't gotten anything yet.

Does it normally take a while? Should I cancel and try my luck with the NVLB group?

It can take a few days on its own. I 100% recommend posting on the NVLB board! Just let them know which strain you signed up for, and they'll get you going pretty soon. There's no need to cancel your selection or anything, as long as you remember which one you signed up for.
