Is the richest user counter broke?

While the counter on the user dashboard is broken, I believe the counter on the About Subeta page for how much sP the top richest user has is still working, if you wanted a goal to save for.

It's broke whenever it's insisting that I'm the 31st richest and there is no way I'm that close to any of the top 50.

Don't want to discourage you from saving, but someone was talking about setting up a pool to try to go for richest user. They sent a ticket asking if they got to the richest user amount based on the stats page, if staff could trigger the achievement. They were told no.
