As the zeppelin took a smooth turn to the south, the large tomcat smiled out the small circular window, his mood content.
His wife's soft nose nuzzled his neck. "I love seeing you so content," Vibrissa said.
Grumpus looked at her with his private expression of extreme affection, a state reserved for his spouse and his offspring, a state which was not his uusal demeanor of pessimisn and disdain.
That mood had served him well, and was all too apropos in situations which required his talents as a protective and wise consort. Vibrissa was the Feline Faerie Queen after all.
"You know I love being in the air," he replied smoothly, "but I'm sure it will all turn into the most terrible muddle once we get there, and we don't have most of our family of choice to help us.How on earth did Tan allow them to be trapped in that time twist?"
"It was either that or let a good portion of the world be destroyed." Vibrissa snapped back. "I just want them to return."
"They will; they just will." he said firmly. "Thorson's a whiz and he has Chiasa's help. She a clever little thing, and, age notwithstanding, she adores Thorson."
"Thorson is younger than he looks. He just hasn't seen enough happiness yet. Which brings me to the urgent summons for help from Viridia. I ca;t let her down!"
Vibrissa was seriously upset. Viridia had been her best friend all through Feline Preparation Academy.
Unlike the wide realm of Faerie Vibrissa ruled, the islands of Balihee were a small chain off the coast of Pumeria, but their strategic placement for ocean defense assured them of an important alliance with the Imperial Lynxeran, which allowed Pumeria to live in protected peace.
Grumpus wrapped a paw around his wife's shoulders. "We'll do all we can, but we really don't know if the young princesses were abducted or ran off."
"We have to find them!" Vibrissa exclaimed. Find them and select the one who should be the next queen."
"Out of a set of triplets?" Grumpus was skeptical.
"Only two are identical. We just have to help!"
"I know, sweetheart,: he whispered so as not to let his true feelings show to outsiders, "and we will?"
She leaned back against him in perfect faith as Balihee came into focus on the southern coast.
"Good thing I thought to summon the protectors," Grumpus though to himself. " I have no idea how many will come, but otherwise, I don't have a good feeling about this. Not a good feeling at all."
She got the summons’s and it had been so long the word “protector” was just confusing before her memory of many adventures returned. Quickly packing hoping she could get it all in one case, Willow now peeks out the window awaiting transportation as knees shiver with excitement
It had been a long, dry spell between adventures and Chook was eager for one. Grabbing her swords and a spare pair of undies, she waited with expectation of excitement to come ... as well as a few good, bloody fights.

Lady Frieda dropped the urgent dispatch on her desk and quickly scrawled out a reply with her pencil. "Organized Chaos will attend. Our numbers are diminished it seems, but we will arrive post haste."
The envelope bearing her adopted uncle's sigil looked important. Minou hesitated, looking around guiltily. "Uncle" Kenny had been missing and presumed dead for well over a year now, but she still half expected to see him step from the burnt and blasted remains of his lab, as if he had just been on another adventure.
Her paws only trembled slightly as she opened and read the summons. A call for the Protectors! Well Sir Kenhelm might no be able to respond, but Minou Chaton Digby could be a protector too!
...She hoped...Outfit Not Found
It wasn’t surprising that the letter managed to find him this deep into the wilderness, but it was unexpected. Ven had awoken to the folded parchment landing on his chest. How long has it been? Would his friends already be gathered? Gentilly the mercenary collected his things and tapped the silver pin attached to his vest. It shimmered slightly before a nearly invisible thread of dim light shot from it in the supposed direction of the tavern and certain adventure.Teislyn looked up from the desk at knock on the door, "come in," she mumbled. Her assistant came into a room carrying an envelope and Teislyn immediately recognized the familiar script. She looked at a picture on the desk and touched it gently, a sad, but loving expression came over her face. Looking up, she told her assistant to send off letters to Lady Frieda and also to another she had in mind for this adventure. She would have to break the news to her dearest friend soon and it would be hard to do so. "That will be all, thank you." and she returned to the papers at hand.
Jean unfolded the letter with the familiar seal, and quickly read the contents. A rescue mission? And the Protectors were needed? She quickly packed what she needed and headed out to the meeting point. The call to adventure was received loud and clear.

Valknor lent back in his seat in the tavern. The reclusive elf had not been around so many people in a very long time. Sure, he did still go to markets but usually only for a few things, kept his head down and shopped during lulls. He reached out and took a long drink from his honey wine, which seemed to highlight a horrible scar--like his hand had been mangled and put back together. It wasn't the only scar either. He had several visible scars on his face but it did little to alter the ethereal beauty that woodland elves possessed. He had silver hair which was tied into to a braid with thick cordage binding it. He looked about forty years old in human standards, yet he was over 700. There was a sugar glider eating inside his tunic pocket. He stood and picked up his quiver. The fossa laying beside his feet also got up. They exited the building to see even more people gathered. Now the elf was wondering what was going on. It appeared there was some kind of adventure about to happen. The elf was greatly intrigued.
(will bring Sorn in soon-ish.)
Let's meet at the inn for a few drinks to settle us down, I am sure that we will be picked up there by the zeppelin. We can catch up on each others news and ponder on what the adventure might bring.

A pair of drows entered the gathered crowd. One was male and one was female. Both were stunningly beautiful. The male looked like Sorn, save for the fact that his body was no longer covered in runes. Instead there were clusters of runes in a few places. Zhah was riding on Sorn's shoulder eating a small piece of chocolate. The little sprite looked excited. The female was unknown to anyone, at least as she currently was. Yet Galena had indeed done many adventures for the Wayward Squirrels in the past, just not as a female drow.
A silvox named Coda followed behind them and rubbed through Galena's legs leaving sparks of iridescence in her wake as she made her way to the food area. Galena caught the stares of people towards her and Sorn and whispered, "Do you think I should wear a name tag, that says this is Garrin, guardian of knowledge, now a drow?" She giggled at her own joke. "I recognise several faces."
Sorn chuckled lightly and shook his head. "We'll introduce you once we find our old teammates...if any of them came."
Jean arrived not long after. She spotted the silvox at the food table, and looked around to see if she could find Garrin, without any luck. However she did see someone that looked mostly like Sorn -- and she recognized Zhah without any problem -- so she approached the pair of drow.
"Sorn, is that you?" she asked, mostly rhetorically. "I'm glad to see you well. And who is your friend here?"

"Jean, Jean," squeaked Zhah happily, He flew over to her and hugged a finger on her hand. "Zhah missed Jean."
Sorn flashed a smile and managed to make it look smug and innocent at the same time. "Of course it is I, your dashing drow sorcerer," he purred. "Ah, this is Galena. But you know her as Garrin. I changed him into a female drow."
Galena rolled her eyes at Sorn. She gave a helpless shrug at the end of Sorn's comment. She then gave a half smile at Jean.
Alfred was running late. He'd been trying to finalise a particular potion and completely lost track of the time, and the day. Running to try and make up for lost time, he skidded to a halt before nearly crashing into what he thought was a Drow, but couldn't possibly be Sorn because he didn't have any visible runes over his skin. "Er sorry," he said cautiously, knowing that Drows didn't usually take kindly to nearly being bowled over by a werewolf in a hurry, "didn't mean to nearly run into you".
Alfred plunged his hand into his coat pocket and pulled out his magical mouse Boris. "Ok, you can help. Climb on my shoulder and see if you can spot any of our team members. They're bound to have arrived before we did."

"Would help if you actually looked where you are going," Sorn replied. He rolled his eyes. "You just found three of them." He gave a nod with his head at Jean and Galena.
Jean smiled at Zhah and pulled a small treat from her bag to give him. Sorn's explanation of Garrin's new identity was greeted with a raised eyebrow -- she had to wonder if Galena was happy with the change, but since she didn't seem to be protesting it, it was hardly Jean's place to do so.
"Oh, Alfred! And Boris too. Lovely to see you again."
