Basically, I have a bunch of ideas, but don't have any CSC to spare to get them launched. So I want to make something guaranteed to sell. I have previews for two I've made but haven't submitted yet. I guess I could ask for a commission but I don't have much to show yet. Also Imgur is down :( so no previews to critique but I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Be sure to let me know what style you're most inclined to buy... fantasy fashion? Lolita? Goth? Favorite color schemes? Accessories?

I personally love accessories and companions... not to mention fantasy items are always fun, capes, cloaks, etc. Anything with crosses...... but this is just my personal opinions I hope it helps in some way! I hope you get your CWs on site and they do amazing!

I don't usually have a lot of CSC on hand, so, on the rare occasion that I do buy CWs, I try to buy pieces that I can easily adapt into different outfits (i.e. backgrounds, accessories, wigs, layering pieces) or ones that I know I'll automatically default to in an option (i.e. certain sweaters/dresses) so I get a good amount of use out of them! :)

Gl with getting your CWs launched!

Unfortunately there's no real way to guarantee something is going to sell. I've had releases that I thought were going to go over well that I sold maybe two or three. I've released things that I thought no one's going to like these but me that I've had sell out in a day.

Ultimately you should release things that you personally love. Things that make YOU happy. That way whether they are popular or not, they're still a win because they're something you enjoy!

I really agree with here. You should want to submit a CW because you like the end product, not because it will be popular. I think a some of people outside of the cw community misunderstand that selling is hard. Understanding what your consumers want is even harder. That's why you should really steer from viewing being a CW Releaser as a gain of monetary value/status. I can't speak for anyone but my own experience with releasing alongside but I don't believe in putting out an item that I wouldn't personally wear/like. You should release because you want to and see items you like since how it will sell varies with the market. You can't guarantee what will be popular.

Whose to say haha, everyone has different tastes and things they like :) Just release something that makes you happy and that you would like the most, that way you won't lose.

Alternatively you can do things 'the old fashioned way' before we had CW shops. Post the preview of your item and ping the CW forum group to ask how many people would be interested in buying. That way you'll be able to gauge interest.

already mentioned something very similar to how I buy CWs. Adaptability is a big thing for me, as well as what goes with my personal taste, since I don’t buy csc with actual money. It’s VERY subjective.

You can also team up with a more popular CW distributor, but I understand that it’s not ideal for artists. I myself would probably would do it alone if I sold CWs, but some people like that.
