is absolutely gorgeous, and I'd love to use it... But it's unusable. Or at least almost unusable. But the only way to do it is to go shirtless, because every top ends up covering the hand, so you end up with one hand being the same color/pattern as whatever top you're using. Even some bottoms with a high waist cover part of it. It's like the item was designed without considering how it might be layered.
has the same issue with pants, but it's not as noticeable.
Please don't make any more items with a cutout for a hand like this, or at least have it in a place that isn't covered by most tops. It's really frustrating having an item I love but can't use.

Okay it's not unusable, but I still wish it was a little easier to work with. I still think on items with a cutout for the hand, the cutout should be more carefully placed.
[edit] (the event has been over for a while, not sure if it's safe to remove the spoilers?) I shouldn't have expected everyone to read all the posts, so I just want to say: I know people have found ways to make this work so it's not as bad as I thought (though I still don't like how anything I have looks with it, but that's just me), but even so, it's still tricky to work with. Then again there are other items that are tricky to work with.

Hmm that IS an issue. I thought it may be just a layering issue, but because they made it with the cutout able to be any skin color, it really doesn't work out with tops. Does it even work with a basic tank or tube top style top?
Nope, it does not.

I do love wearables with a cutout to match skin tones, but this one is kind of a weird placement given that the middle of the cloak is so open. The missing hand is right over the HA's chest, which makes layering extra tricky, but I don't think it's totally unusable.
Since the opening is right over the chest, crop tops and bandeau-style items kind of fill it in like a glove and you could layer a different top underneath that to fill in the front opening. + recolors work pretty well for a glove color since they don't have a pattern or out-of-place shading under the hand opening, and several of the colors have a matching (or pretty close) pair of mittens onsite you could use for the HA's other hand: Outfit Not Found

Not really. There's some low-cut tops that only cover part of the hand, but still noticeable.
It just occurred to me that it can be used with some items that cover the shoulders, and there might be other possibilities, so it's not completely unusable like I thought initially, but still very limited.
Not sure just how much of this needs to be kept under spoilers...
[edit] Good idea. I might try playing with it a bit more later on.
, it's always best to keep anything new under spoilers, no matter what it is, IMO. People can get upset pretty quickly.

I do like what darkrai suggested up above this post. I think a white bandeau and white glove could look really nice and crisp.

I was able to make it work with...

the
^ the slacks cover as much of the bare skin as I could see, but because they don't cover the chest area, the hand's skin tone isn't affected

if bottoms get in the way (lower hand)..
for those that don't know, use the (your base number) gloves OVER your bottom layer! i.e. [item=Single Sheer Glove (Base 4)] so that instead of skirt, you have hand~!

[sub]ignore the hair showing in the upper hand tho lol[/sub]
sheer boob glove anyone? haha

, thank you!! :0 I had no idea what those glove items were for. I used the Blue Corset Dress, a pretty good color match and also leaves the "hand" part mostly uncovered. I agree that white gloves would look very nice with this cloak as well!

Thanks everyone for the ideas!
This item gave me some trouble as well yesterday but I made a HA with it:

Using and . Also usable: and (but the Lantern leaves a tiny spot of skin...)
I don't agree. I think as people have shown above, there are combos which work, it's just being a tad more creative about it. There are a lot of high waistline belts and items which can easily cover the wait area and not the hand. I like subeta doing more unique limb placement items like these.
I actually had a ton of fun finding ways to layer this item to make it work.

I did find the item harder than normal to create an outfit for, but in the end I managed.
I agree with OP that items should be made with the idea of them actually being usable for users.. I remember there have been other cut out type items that have been drawn that weren't very practical.. was it that star magician CS item I'm thinking of??
I do think a good solution would be to have some (new) basics that can help layer items. More plain coloured/layerable waist items, some very cropped tops, more items than go across the chest at various heights.. etc..
