Hello friends :) I am working on adding a new category to hopefully be up Sunday by the start of the CW sale, but I need your help and input!
I am adding a category for small 'skins'. This will be for items that are generally flat colored that are meant to alter the HA's lineart or something similar in a small way. A great example is 's face wipes they've been doing; we've been having Feral submit them as a facial feature for now, but I know there are other ideas for this and it would be best for it to have its own category!
Skins will be a 300 CSC category (like facial features) and will be for items that only change small sections of the HA. Full-body skins may be a thing in the future, but we're starting off small. Skins will strictly be for flat/mostly flat colored overlays that erase or go over part of the existing HA or a feature of the HA. They are overlays that cannot stand on their own (so if you just had it on your HA with nothing else, it wouldn't make sense). Things like unique limbs that actually CHANGE the overall HA lineart will still need to be in unique limbs.
My question for this is -- what places do you guys anticipate using this, so I can try to make sure I have a few categories/placements ready to go? I was thinking face and chest for sure. If anyone has any examples they've been thinking about or sitting on, that would be helpful too! I can't say every single suggestion will make it, but it will be helpful for me to get this up and running hopefully by Sunday :)
Oh, this is a great idea! Based on your description I feel like my items would fit this category too, since they alter the HA but can't stand on their own. (They're current in the arms category but it doesn't feel like a great match.)
I can't think of any other examples, I'll leave it to the more creative minds to brew up ideas. But I do appreciate that you are still trying to work on and improve the CW system as it continues on, it's all very exciting to see the investments being put into it! :)
Yes! That's a good example too. It's a reallyyy small one so I think that's why we kind of let it pass in the makeup category, but that's basically the idea of this category!
At this time all I can think I'd personally use it for would be chest and face.
But I guess that leads me to ask questions! Does this one still stay in facial features? I feel like yes since it's more like a makeup kit but wanted to verify. Would re-texturing parts of the HA like this item need to go into this new category in the future? (If so then I may also need a category for arms and legs lol)
might i suggest slapping them all in the "body" layer? i believe thats where the initial body whiteouts were/are and most tattoos go there too if im not mistaken e-e

Since the arm thing is so detailed and can like... stand alone, it should stay where it is! Your facewipes can stay where they are for now as well ;)
Okay! so even more simple than those :) It may take me a moment to learn the category then haha. I have a few other ideas I want to work on but I think all of them may be too detailed for this category---
OH would a Vitiligo item go in this? (Just the lighter skin tone, not an entire 'skin' so that it could work with a variety of different skin tones? Probably one that was more split up into parts I'm guessing, rather than a full Vitiligo skin. So like... 'for the face' 'for the body'? like how tattoos need to be split?)
