My wife just left for a short out-of-town with her mom and her sister. I don't always do well on my own, and in fact sometimes it's been pretty bad, but I've been working really hard to keep myself together. And it's like, sometimes she's gonna be away so I want to make this work. Here are my plans for not losing it (suggestions welcome): -sleep, eat, drink water, shower -take care of the animals (2 dogs and 2 cats) -exercise -journal/write sad poetry -listen to my audiobooks -watch all of Elementary

Is writing something you find a lot of joy in, or a full-on hobby for you? I feel it’s a really good task to focus your mind into. Other than that, unless there’s anything you urgently need to get done around the house I’d say you’ve got a good start in terms of being productive
those sound like gr8 plans. i enjoy my alone time when my bf leaves 4 whatever reason, but its hard 2 keep the anxiety from plantin its seeds so i feel u

Interesting question, I don't know that writing brings me joy exactly, but it's very cathartic and I enjoy doing it! I write haiku and I've found that it's a great way to bring structure to stressful thoughts.
Right now the exercise I do is walking, elliptical, and physical therapy. I have a chronic physical illness that impacts the ways I can move my body. I'd like to be more active but it's hard with these limitations.

ah yeah, that makes sense. those all seem like a rly good foundation tho! do u like 2 have a "goal" 4 ur walks? sometimes i find it helps me have an easier time gettin out of the apartment if im like "ok ok i just have 2 walk until i see a robin and then i can go home" or smth like tht. and it just makes it more fun i think
So the walking I do is when I walk the dogs, and we always do a specific route. I picked it because it has safe road crossings and limited human sightings. My goal is just to do it basically, I have a hard time leaving the house. I have the whole route broken down into sections and I keep track of the sections as we go lol. Usually getting out the door is the hardest part and once we're walking it feels good. I do like to notice funny things and take pics :)
