A Festive Memory would be putting up the Christmas Tree for the first time and seeing the wonder in my son's eyes. He was so mesmerized and it was cool to see the joy in his eyes.

To raise money the scouts would sell Christmas trees in a tree lot. I remember having to go. I was a great hustler lol at selling the trees. I loved the smells and the cold weather and sipping hot chocolate feeling my nose warm or standing by the fire. Of course the tips were also awesome LOL they couldn't make me give those up since I was not a boyscout lol. since I am a girl ;)

So many festive memories over the years... One that sticks with me was years ago, when I was building my house in the mountains. The house was dried in and sheathed by the holidays, but I was still running on the contractor's generator and my wood burning cookstove while we worked on the interior. (The power company still had to install a couple new poles to reach my house which is the very last on on the street.) I had just finished decorating a baby sequoia tree in my yard with battery powered lights and bird seed ornaments, when a heavy snow storm came through and took out the main powerlines over the pass. My little tree was the only light to be seen in the blizzard. Luckily I had plenty of gas for the generator and a couple of cords of wood for the stove, so I was just settling down with a book when there was a knock at my door. My neighbors wanted to know if my generator could charge their infant's breathing monitor batteries. I, of course invited them all in, since my house was plenty warm, though I didn't have much in the way of furniture yet. The dad went back to their place and came back with a folding table, lots of chairs, and a truckload of food that they couldn't finish cooking on their electric stove. The older children were excited to see food cooked on a wood stove, and we shared a marvelous dinner, hot toddies and stories by the fire until we saw the lights down the road start coming back on later that night. The sequoia tree is over 50 feet tall now, and that family has moved away, but a couple holidays ago I received a card from the young lady who was just an infant that night, with a yellowed photograph of my tiny tree shining in the blizzard, and a new photo of her holding a brand new baby of her own.

That's a full card! I'd love to be put in for the raffle tickets please. an for the full card prize I'd love the if it's available.

7. Share a festive memory I'll never forget the one Christmas Eve (Weihnachten) as a child where my entire family all were under one roof together to celebrate the holidays together. Family from all over the country traveled to my city and we celebrated at our house, which was much too small for such a large number of people, but we made it work somehow. lol. I'll always remember the music we listened to every year (James Last Christmas albums) and that warm festive feeling of the whole family being together. Plus, the highlight of the evening, the crazy family photo shoot we did with the entire family scrambling close together to get the "perfect" family photo. Years later, we look at that family photo and laugh at our crazy facial expressions and guess what each of us must've been thinking while the photo was being taken. xD
