Are pets with these worth a lot? Even if they're really bad? :T
[-Winks] Some people, like myself find Legacy names desirable for their pets, but no, there's no value to them.
Oh! I did'nt know this. Thanks. Just debating whether I should erase one of my pets old names or not. ^^;
I see. I adopt every now and then and I'd get some weird refs to stuff with underscores & numbers. xD Not sure about keeping cause memories or cause their kinda funny.
[-Winks] The legacy names were mainly meant to be a compromise/bonus thing for people who had those names "first" or got them the old fashioned way when you had to wait for names on old accounts to clear before trying to snatch them up for your own pet. It's kind of a way of acknowledging that those names may still be special for the people who got them, even though other people can name their pets those things now as well.
So I think the legacy names would mainly just have sentimental value for the players who have pets with them and they were names that they like or worked for or got lucky enough to get. If you don't really have any particular personal attachment to the legacy name, then I don't think it would really be a big deal to erase it. Just take some time to be sure though, because you can't undo it if you do decide to remove a pet's legacy name.
Thank you for this. I got some weird legacy names years ago of shows/characters I had no interest in, wasn't sure about keeping honestly still out of uniqueness or just nostalgia, even though it's not that great. xD;
[-Winks] If you found the original names amusing, a fun thing to do is to change the name, but not erase the leggy name. Then you can create a story that links the names somehow. I've seen some amazing pets that people have made that way in the spotlight winners lately.
In my case the only pet who I erased the legacy name for was originally named Luciente meaning "shining". I changed his name to Lucifer the instant non-unique names became a thing. Now I wish I had kept the "Pet name Lucifer, Legacy name Luciente" designation, because that could have added another dimension to his story.
