do u kno what it is thats making them fall off? like what kind of pins r we talkin here

it's all the kind with the back, so my problem is the back will pop off. ive lost a couple but still have my fave. and assorted types of backs, but none of them will stay in

i was going to suggest sewing them onto the denim but if the whole back is popping off, that's not gonna help 😂 idk how crafty you are but purposely removing the backs and then gluing them back on might be worth trying?

maybe put a little dab of hot glue in the pin hole on the back thingies? and wait for it to be closer to solid, then put them on - it's hot glue so you should be able to pull/scrape it out if you need later but maybe it'll hold more snugly

the metal ones with the like... little pinchy bits you're supposed to squeeze - sometimes those flex too easily and fall off my pins, & I wonder if you could even like - poke your pins through the jacket and then a layer of waxed paper to protect the fabric, put the metal backs on, and then kind of. inject the little hollow-ish space in the pin back with hot glue so it doesn't wiggle around.

idk though, this is why I put my pins in an ita bag :(

Yea it’s the kind with metal backs hot glue seems like it migh be the best course of action but I’m afraid still. I’m losing them I don’t wanna lose my favorites

btw here they are. i dont have hot glue but my parents might when i go home next weekend. but im rly worried about losing them cuz i love them.

I wonder how it'd look if you basically. sewed a clear patch to your jacket, over/around the pins - they'd be SUPER secure but idk if like... vinyl??? is good for that? being on clothes?

I sure didn't ever assemble that visual aid but what I'm picturing is basically a back patch that's a layer of something padded/squishy for the pins to go into, like pre-quilted fabric or sthn to sort of smooth out the pin backs and keep them from digging into you, and then a layer of clear vinyl that would go over the pins you'd just want to be careful to sew or secure the vinyl in a way that doesn't make it too weak and want to tear, but you'd notice that happening before you lost any pins, I think. you could probably also put fabric glue over the stitches + use a thicker heavy duty thread to avoid a cheese cutter effect on the vinyl.

Can you pull the little legs out so they don't come unfastened as easily? Not sure I'm describing this well. Or maybe push the pinback through, bend it 90 degrees, and hot glue it to the denim.

okay I. tried making one. that I could put onto one of my backpacks... it could be Improved - I think on a heavy jacket it might look neat shaped like a regular chest pocket? the bias take was supposed to be black but I accidentally got the wrong size and it was way too skinny :K this was with the thinner of two kinds of vinyl I got from the remnants section at joann's - p much every time I go to one they have remnants of it (people usually need bigger pieces), so I got two kinds for less than $5. I made this one close with snaps but if you weren't gonna access the pocket after placing the pins you could just stitch it on all the way around
