all week I've been taking my written preliminary/comprehensive exams for my phd where each day I take an (all day, 8+ hour) exam from one professor/other-phd-holding-person on my committee (the people who decide whether I graduate, no pressure lol). I've got 5 members on my committee so that's a test for every day of the week. The one from wednesday no exaggeration I was working on from 8am to 2am. I'm so tired 😩 I just read over the exam for today and it at least doesn't have any questions that make me do math (the professor that wrote it teaches a kinda difficult branch of statistics that uses a lot of calculus and I'm rusty) but instead they're all essay questions and I'll probably be writing the equivalent of a small book over the next 8 hours nbd. at least after this one I'll be done for the weekend and can just sleep for a couple days bleh

gl you got this!!! just think of how accomplished you'll feel when its done and you are one step closer!!!

thank you ginny!! it's def gonna be a huge relief to get them out of the way and be one step closer to the end goal. I've already decided I'm gonna order a new laptop tonight as a reward (I've been making to for a long time anyway cause mine is old and makes me very very nervous lol)

btw did you get that signature you needed for your paper?

and yes I finally got my sign-off & my paper will be PUBLIC tomorrow night !!! still have to make it through peer review but honestly this is the best feeling having it out there in the world

heck yea you've been working so hard for this, very very happy for you to finally have it out there ginny!!! peer review's just gonna put that last bit of polish on it but I'm sure it's mostly a formality at this point.
