and the fried chicken comment is something sodabottle said in the board mentioned that was very very obviously meant in That Way (she even said something like "take that as you will ;)"), any time it's come up since she says it's being taken out of context (edit: and was apparently just going to get dinner at raising cane's, that's how that came up, forgot to mention that) but the board she posted it in was, like marcel said, explicitly discussing how a word used on neo has been used as a slur against black people so I really don't know why sodabottle thinks the context makes it any better? unless she's just counting on people not knowing the context and giving her the benefit of the doubt

nah it's not a dumb question, basically it's been used as a demeaning stereotype for the black community. I'm def not qualified to explain the nuances of what makes it demeaning, but there are people who reference it in bad faith to make fun of and belittle black culinary culture in the US, so using it in the context that it was with the wink face seems very deliberate and sketchy.
