Only time I’ve ever been approaching by religious fanatics was a lady approaching me and my friend downtown and handing us what I’d best describe as “Jesus playing cards” that had a portrait on one side and a Bible verse on the other. Strange but thankfully rather harmless. Her and I were joking about them for a little while so that was admittedly nice.

Not a religion, but this same friend was harassed in the local park by someone protesting a rib festival that was to be hosted in a few days. She wasn’t doing anything remotely event-related, but wound up being angrily confronted and bombarded with questions anyway :-(

thankfully it doesnt rly bother me lol. ive come away w a lot fewer mental/emotional scars than most ppl raised religious (catholic in my case), so i rly just laugh it off. i dont blame u 4 feelin tht way abt JWs, its so sad how they brainwash all these poor kids and tbh when i have a minute im gna post pics lol, its like a whole-ass comic

im screamingggg bc my catholic grandma has sent me those Jesus Trading Cards b4. she means very well, but it would break her poor heart if she found out im not a nice lil catholic so im fine keeping up the illusion. shes not like a "ALL GAYS NEED 2 BURN IN HELL" type catholic so tht makes it a lot easier

Yeah it can be really scary ;-; just two weeks ago she got approached by a weird man outside of an ice cream store late at night, thankfully she wasn’t alone and he was likely a store employee, but he was acting REALLY weird and she was legitimately frightened of being abducted.

ugh exactly. i remember having to go to some of the JW meetings as a kid and even then i really felt for the other children who were there. i get that it's a tricky one tho since the adults are often brainwashed too so they think they're doing the right thing?? idk
