it mostly happens when ppl ask questions abt birds. i was just telling my mom i want a new cage 4 zappa 4 christmas and she asked why, so i explained and one of my points was "and then that way we'll have a spare cage 4 the next bird since u have 2 quarantine any new birds 4 six weeks b4 u introduce them 2 the flock" and she goes "Okayyyy... lol" like... the thought of my bird dying from a disease they caught from a new bird just is a serious matter 2 me??

why do people gotta act like it's weird to like stuff and talking about that stuff lol

ugh i know! it just reminds me of this stupid little snicker my stepmom would do whenever i was geekin out over smth bc she ThOuGhT iT wAs CuTe but it made me feel so ashamed 2 ever express excitement

oh next bird is far into the future lol, but probably more budgies. i love these tiny balls of r a g e and also i dnt want anything huge bc who knows where ill b living when grad school comes around

oh man it's rough when people don't take things seriously :( but new birds sound fun even if it's far in the future. I was considering a cat recently but I'm already practically broke from the dog's vet bills so idk how I'd swing a cat too

BABY. MOTHERFUCKIN B A B Y. have u ever seen the different uh... well not color mutations, but like other mutations? english budgies r prob the most common, and they arent a mutation but rather just bred tht way. they r a lot bigger, usually more docile, and... u just need 2 go look up what they look like lol. hagoromo budgies r also rly cool, tho idk much abt their quality of life

yeahhhh im pretty much just suffering til grad school, bc i kno once im immersed in linguistics ill rly start coming into my own. at least i hope lol. i wont feel like the odd one out all the time

lol for some reason I think it's hard for people outside the bird community to understand how addictive they can be, like I don't have any birds but I've had friends that do and it seems like the kind of thing that once you're into it there's no turning back, that's your life now haha

ooooh yea I really like the ones that are kinda purplish! like some of the pictures online look a bit too bright purple and have to be edited so I try not to get too excited about those lol, but there are some really beautiful ones that look real. and I cannot believe those hagoromo budgies, I'd never seen them before, those birds are fancy as heck! I wonder if they have any trouble grooming with the feathers sticking out in weird ways though?

personally I've enjoyed grad school a lot more than undergrad, like you get to meet a lot of interesting people and the classes are more engaging and there's more freedom to put your original ideas out there and seriously explore them
