hey all!! i recently rejoined because i have a very vivid memory of a pet that i could've sworn i had on subeta, though i went through all of the colours and species i thought it might possibly be, and i'm not seeing it... so i figured i would ask here in case it's been retired, or if any longterm players know what i'm talking about?

the pet was a light/medium gray colour with a chubby bat-like? body, but most notably their head was a lamp head that was pointed almost directly at the viewer

if anyone has any idea what i'm talking about, i'd greatly appreciate it!! i also doodled something SUPER quick from memory, but things like the pose/body shape/etc are a little fuzzy...

honestly my immediate thought was experiment 84? the holes/eyes remind me of lights somewhat and if it's been years it might've morphed in the mind?

do you know around what year you remember it from? there's been pets/colors released or revamped every few months so it might help to narrow down.

there's also the possibility of revamps which the site doesn't show but are posted elsewhere which might be messing up your search.

edit: could also have been a ghostly, their whole schtick is the white bulb head.

(i love your username btw) unfortunately that's not the one, it's very distinctly a lamp head! though, i did think it was one of the experiments? because i dont recall it being a "traditional" pet with other colours...

it would've been roughly 7-8 years ago, so it's been quite a long time!! i'll definitely have to look into finding some old revamped pets, because that might be the case!

dang, was worth a shot though. honestly my only other guess would be chibi ghostly for the general feel (not a lamp though but big round white blob for a head). basically all the Chibis have been revamped in the past few years and neocolors (which used to be a great source of info on subeta pets and revamps) apparently hasn't been updated since 2017 and most of their links esp the experiment ones are broken :

I don't think that was ever on subeta :/ which is a shame because that looks awesome I'm going through and researching a lot of pet + color combos to make them larger for graphics and I have stumbled upon some old art, but nothing even close to that

Maybe it was an overlay? We can force other images on top of our pet's images with CSS coding, so a lot of people see that and ask what pet it is

ripppp.... it's possible it was an overlay? i don't remember any specific details about how i obtained the pet, so it's definitely within the realm of possibility, for sure! i wish i could find the same image again, just for nostalgia sake, but i might be out of luck ;;

I'm very positive we don't have anything similar, so it might have been an overlay :( That long ago the site didn't have custom overlays that you upload and it turns the pet into it, but maybe it was some leftover code or something you put there yourself and forgot about it I suggest you take a look at old image hosting sites, I'd really like to see it too haha

If nothing else, you can get it done again and upload it, so your lamp bat will show up everywhere around the site~

Was it this experiment by any chance? This is the only one that I can think of that even comes close to that description.

it was definitely a pet, though that cyclamp head looks exactly what im remembering being the head on the pet itself, just minus the pupil!!

unfortunately not!! ;; i looked through all of the experiment pets that are on the subetapedia currently and none of them match what i'm remembering... i have the growing suspicion that it might have been an overlay that's lost to time, though i don't know how i would have coded in an overlay, nor where i would have gotten it from, haha....
