it's interesting that a lot of transphobic talking points use the same statistics that we do for supporting trans rights. like citing s word attempts, rates of mental illness, substance use, criminalization, etc. but of course that's the fault of the individual for their moral failings or whatever. some ppl are so devoid of empathy.

The trans s*cide statistics r always so interesting 2 me bc they drop down 2 the normal rate when sirrounded by accepting folks who treat them as the gender they are.

A lot of ppl dont hear that last bit and r acting from a place of misguided concern 4 their loved one. Its tragic how some groups have used that statistic to effectively weaponize parental love for their cause.
