I went into my minion zoo for the hell of it and apparently minions have stats. What are they for?

From what I recall, the minion zoo was originally going to be for a new feature that would be like minion battling. The battling part was apparently taking a while to figure out, so the feature is not quite finished and they ended up releasing the zoo as more or less a collection for people to display their minions. Some minions do have stats though and you actually can battle with them if you click on them in your zoo. You don't really get anything for it though right now, other than increasing your minion's level.
