Can the achievement tied to [item=Dr. Lockhearts Amoricide] be retired until such time as the item itself is useable again? I recently purchased the item solely for the purpose of getting the achievement only to find that it has been disabled due to interfering with other infections during Survival. Since it is not known whether or not we will ever be able to use the Amoricide again, it would save other users a lot of disappointment and sP if the achievement was not active. Thanks for considering.
It sounds like it should be available anytime outside of Survival if they are worried about interfering with infections. Staff have the ability to make vials usable during Survival only, so they have to do is lock it during Survival.
You can get these things anytime of the year so I hope Staff shouldn't have to retire them (though there a bunch of achievements that I don't think should be retired but what do I know?).
Commenting for visibility, I am in the same position as OP and have the Amoricide in my Vault.. I bought it during Survival but have as of yet been unable to use it. I do hope it wasn't 10 mil wasted, but even if so the achievement should either be fixed or retired.
Yeah I agree with Avel, I understand why it had to be disabled as it was affecting people's strain progression during the holiday. But I don't see why it can't just be re-activated once the event is over. Maybe wait a few days for the people who got infected on the last day to finish their strains, but otherwise I don't see why it should be much of an issue unless something about the way it's coded is making it difficult.
maybe they could change the temporary overlay they used to give to a wearable option for the item and then make the use option only trigger the achievement without any virus interrupting visual bits.
There are three other currently active achievements that are similar. Dr. Lockhearts Amoricone does not have a USE option, Lamouracillin does have a USE option. I can't check the Amoryl Cream because I don't happen to have one of those on hand.

I really don't like retiring achievements. I really don't understand why they can't all be activated now and deactivated during Survival...

A user admin contacted me about this due to a ticket that was filed, so I figured I'd also post here:
I'm going to work on scheduling a point of time that those are active where they won't conflict with other things. We can't have them any time outside of just Survival, because the hexes for Morostide will also mess them up. There are a few things on that system that are named different things (hexes, kisses, infections etc) that work the same.
We will not retire the achievements. I'm just working on a solid time to have them available. :)
