Happy September! I just purchased an oracle deck, and to practice I'm offering free readings. I'll do 2-3 card readings unless there's a line, in which case I'll do just one-card pulls.

How it works: think of a question and post it here, or sm if you prefer. You can keep your question to yourself if you’d rather not tell me, but I won’t be able to tailor the reading without a direction to go. It’s best to ask a clear question about yourself.

In your reading I’ll include the card, the meaning of it according to the guidebook, and any additional symbolism my intuition leads me to.

If you have any specific requests please include those as well! This can be a request for a certain spread (Problem/Solution or Past, Present, Future are good oracle spreads,) shuffling (shuffle three times and cut the deck once) or card choice instructions (top card, take a card from the middle, etc.)

COMING SOON: A picture of each card for you to reference. My phone is the worst and is not cooperating with getting pictures off of it but I'm working on it!

I don’t have a ton of free time so don’t fret if I don't respond for a few hours, I’ll close this if I’m not coming back to it.

Curious what an oracle deck is? Oracle is similar to Tarot, but less detailed. There are no major or minor arcana, no court cards, usually no number associations. Oracle decks tend to be fewer cards than a tarot deck, and there are many many types of decks and themes. Mine is a botanical oracle deck so most of the cards are plants, with some animals and other random things thrown in. Oracle spreads are usually smaller and simpler than tarot spreads, no more than three cards or so, although every practitioner is different.

Do you read oracle or tarot? Let’s chat! I’m an absolute beginner and I’ll take all the guidance I can get.

I might also purchase a tarot deck so I may be offering those readings in the future.

Oh, this is really cool. I would like a reading, please. I'm starting a new job soon. My question: is this the right direction for my career?

Your card is: Curio Cabinet (I’ll post a picture when I can.)

Guidebook: This subject should be kept in a safe place and protected. Do not allow access.

The additional symbolism I see is that you may be feeling closed off and introverted. In relation to a job change, this is a natural feeling. It doesn’t mean this isn’t a good career move for you though, you may just need to pay close attention to the energies in this new opportunity to make sure you don’t lose yourself in this new job.

I typed all that and then I decided to pull a clarifying card.

Clarifier: Winter Guidebook: A time of death, dormancy, and hibernation. Eventually spring will come with new opportunities.

Again there’s a theme of being closed off, in hibernation. This card specifically mentions new opportunities though, so in conjunction with the other themes I would say this new job may be challenging, but ultimately a good opportunity.

Are you excited about the new job or are you feeling trepidation?

Thank you for the reading! Hibernation is interesting - I was deciding between this and another job, and the other would have been more challenging, so I have been second guessing this decision.

Ah gotcha. I had a similar situation earlier this year. I chose the challenge, because I’m a glutton for punishment. I think it was the right choice for me because I thrive on doing hard things, but there are days that I question whether I made the right choice.

The good thing about jobs though, is that we’re not tied to them for life. If you get a few weeks/months/years into this job and realize you need more of a challenge then I’m sure an opportunity will come along.

When do you start it?

Sign me up for a reading! I'm interested! If you choose to practice on me, I've got concerns about whether or not I'm headed the right direction, career-wise.
