Alrighty, so I know that there are quite a few of these already but I keep seeing differing opinions on what items/scrolls should be gotten/used for tier 8. I am also looking not only to have a good tier 8 set but also something that should hold me for awhile in battles even in higher tiers as my main battle pet [Pet=Salamando], shouldn't be in tier 8 for terribly long, especially if I update my armory set as I intend to. So I would prefer suggestions that would continue to be useful for at least a couple of tiers and not anything that'll stop being useful after tier 8 is done.

I've gone and already begun buying some items that have been mentioned multiple times in other threads pretty consistently and so far this is what I have equipped.

Also, in addition, how the actual heck do I defeat Cursed Effigy the Tormented? It just kills me and my healing does jack bupkiss..

Sorry this is quite late, but one upgrade I can see that you may work towards is the which is available to craft through buying items in the battle shop.

Otherwise, tier 8 is kind of an awkward area, and I'm not sure if you may actually have already tiered up by the time you're reading this, so let me know if you have, and maybe I can give you more specific advice. But sometimes it may be better to simply get to tier 10 where better options exist, such as

Free free to make your own thread o: But your current set looks a little lopsided, normally we only run two damage dealers in a battle set because the utility of a freezing item/blasters help out. Generally: Freezers - 100% chance to freeze enemy once per battle (ex. gorgun, intricate energized helmet. Limit 1 per set) Blasters - turns one of the enemys weapons into a useless item once per battle (ex. soma tablets, recycle blaster)

That being said, your trident is a powerful weapon, and the phoenix quill/reviver of the lion are strong recovery options, so you have the beginnings of a great set! Make sure you don't forget about scrolls as well :)

I gotcha. And yes, I have tierd up to 9 since posting this as well as have gotten that first item you mentioned. I am also getting close to tier 10 with only about 350 more points to go.

Congrats on tier 9! :) Some upgrades you might want to work towards: [item2=Cold Blast scroll] - 75 wins on Mama Mush/Daemon [item2=Malignant Rift Staff] - it's tier 9 and does scale up as you raise tiers, however, it doesnt heal until tier 11. I think I might have saw one discounted here Fin [item2=Aftershocks scroll] - it's a straight upgrade/replacement for your Terra focujin

I still stand by the recommendation for the Eyeball, esp since you're close to tier 10! :) A lot of the other items in tier 10 are things you can start to earn, such as the from Malerias Familiar but hopefully this can give you an idea of what to push for going forward.

Alrighty cool. I have all of those on my wishlist currently. I'll work on them! Also Maleria's Familiar? Like a drop from beating it? I def hve to beef up to fight that I think. I still don't stand a chance.

yep, its not an amazing weapon so its not a huge priority, but maybe once you hit t10 or 11 you can definitely try to hang around battle chat/the weapon lending thread/even just comment me, and we might be able to work out a strategy using lent weapons to see if you can get the wins!

alrighty souonds good. Also, I would like to ask how do I know the use case for each of the scrolls? Im really not sure how to tell what kind of roles they mostly play and when/ what enemies to use them on.

Sure, they kind of fall into major categories, or at least this is how I think of them in my brain.

1. Multi use/healing/default: These scrolls are your go to gap filler scroll, they will heal you some percentage (like 6-10%) a turn, and then some of the higher tier ones will add icons of damage or protection. - 8% healing, 6 AP - 10% healing. Deals 4 earth. 8 AP - 7% healing. Deals 8 magma/10 earth/6 phys. Blocks 7 earth/5 dark/5 phys //etc. The order I've listed these are basically descending in both price and utility. The further you go down, the better they are, but the last ones are very not worth the price tag.

2. One use Freezing scrolls These scrolls are very useful because they have a high chance to freeze the opponent and if your pet has high intelligence, they will be able to bring a lot of these in battle and use the "chain freeze" strategy where you essentially keep an opponent frozen until its dead. A frozen opponent cannot block or deal damage to you, so its a good way of quickly dealing with the enemy. Note that some opponents cannot be frozen at all, and some opponents have blessings that protect them against freezing, so it's not a strategy you can use on everyone. These scrolls are as follows: - 85%, 15AP - 85%, 17AP - 75%, 16 AP - 65%, 13 AP I've included the estimated freeze chances as well as the AP cost for these.

3. One use healing/bomb scrolls Theres not too many in this category, but these scrolls do whats on the label - they give you a big burst heal/damage when used, and they're once per battle, but again, you can stack a bunch of them in your set if you have them, and that enables you to become a lot tankier. - heals 300 HP, deals 40 icons, 15 AP - heals 1500 hp, 15 AP - heals 500 hp, deals 50 light icons, blocks 75 dark icons, 19 AP

4. One use Shielding scrolls These scrolls can give you a quick block against a few icons for 1 turn. Normally these are only used in battles where you cant use the others, such as against opponents that prohibit healing or freezing.

- blocks 15 or 75 Fire/Ice/Earth/Dark/Physical, 8 AP - blocks 15 or 75 fire/wind/earth/light/physical, 8 AP - blocks 75 fire/dark, deals 13 fire/11 light, 10 AP - blocks 75 fire/water/wind/ice/magma/earth/dark/physical, deals 30-40 dark icons, 50 AP

I realize this post is kind of.. prohibitively long, but hopefully this helps you understand the basic categories of scrolls, and the ones that are generally the most useful. There are probably some I've missed/didnt mention, but this is just what I remember off the top of my head for useful things/what I use the most. I hope this helps, but feel free to let me know if there are more questions.

Hmm I beat Daemon 75 times but I didnt get the scroll. I thought I had Mama Much unlocked but I guess not.

Ooooh nvm. I get it now. I need that piece plus one from Mama Mush to make that scroll.

Woo! Salamando has now hit tier 10! I am also now looking into getting a Prodigy Eyeball as you suggested. Any advice on how my loadout should look at this point? Or that I should work towards. I also did finally get the Cold Blast scroll after a maddening amount of time looking for Mama Mush. 8D
