Hi there, I'm a new player here!

I noticed food and toys from the shops are around 2k each on average, and when I fed my pet the points only went up by 1 each (out of the daily 10 I assume?)!

Is it really 20k a day to keep my pet fed (and probably similarly for toys?) and happy? Is there any benefit to doing so, or any detriment to not feeding/playing with them?

I hope I made sense, haha. Thanks so much! <3 Have a great day!

there is no detriment to not feeding / playing except being unable to use a couple of site features like the coliseum.

If you would like to keep your pets full and happy for much cheaper, you can check them into the Resort or Rathskeller Inn for 200 sP per day. But like calamity said, it doesn't hurt your pets to be hungry or unhappy.

Hello and welcome! You can put your pets into the Resort to be fed, and giving them a minion keeps their happiness levels up so you don't need to play with them. :)

Alternately, questing typically gives you item and sP rewards and it's a great way to get income and special currencies like Quest Points and Wizard Tokens. :)

If you want to feed/play with your pet yourself, and you don't want to leave them hungry/unhappy or make you broke, there is an alternative to sticking them in the Resort or Inn.

Vending at Celebration Gift or Ocean Depths will give you a lot of food items. Vending at Frosty Claw or Ocean Depths will give you toy items. This will get you Achievements for vending and for eating different foods. There isn't an Achievement for toys though.

Vending will also give you some duplicate items and items to sell some of which will pay partially for the cost of the vending.
