While I've been browsing this morning, doing my quests and getting my pets daily income, I keep running into this page. It's very disconcerting and I'm suspicious of it.

This happened to me twice, both when I was trying to edit my profile. It made me a little nervous, so I just backed out of it. It would be nice to get confirmation that it's true and legit before I start pressing strange buttons.

I'm using Chrome on my phone.

This happened to me a few days ago. Some sites have a confirmation like this to stop spam bots, but they're usually set by the owner and in certain places. I haven't seen one in this type of situation before.

This is happening to me as well. It tends to happen when I attempt to update a pet description on their profile. It is a bit worrisome. I am also using Chrome on my laptop.

Just going to throw out that the absolute trash looking page you guys are seeing looks like a legitimate Cloudflare hCaptcha security page. (as Cloudflare moved away from the possibly more familiar Google's reCAPTCHA a while ago.)

If you don't want to see that page so often, there is a "Privacy Pass" option, which you can get for Chrome/Firefox, that gives you 30 "proof of humanity" passes for doing just one of the "find the boats/bikes/etc" captcha instead. Pretty sure it's linked in the little text on the bottom of that page as well?

As for using Privacy Pass, sometimes it'll take away multiple passes in one go & you have to remember to check it & top it off on occasion, but it's been working ok. You do not have to use it, there's no guarantee it'll solve all of your issues and it doesn't always work every time, but it is an option.

As always, please feel free to wait for an actual staff reply & remember to do your own research before downloading something that some random online person suggests, but here're some quick links about the page and the PP option:

Would you believe the stupid captcha page came up when I tried to click on your forum mention in my events? Holy christmas cookies and milk, this is annoying. X'D

The real question is why did this start appearing now, and in (seemingly) random places where there wasn't a need for captchas before?

I know that I'm having that issue with my new ISP (which also happens to be my phone provider) when I use either of them & ONLY for a couple of the sites I need for work. 😢 Started being extra annoying about a month ago. I'm just making do & hoping that CF will eventually chill because I don't really want to stick with my old 600+ ping satellite internet. ha.

But, if you'd like, you can attempt to get a new IP address by unplugging you modem & router for 5~10 minutes to see if that'll net you a new one. It may work or it may not. For some providers, apparently it won't change regardless &, for others, it might take leaving it off for longer.

Or, if you have a different service you can use, you could try that, like using the hotspot on your phone, or if you use a VPN (if it's not one that CF would ALSO hate. ha.). And, sometimes they'll just change, regardless of what you do, depending on how your provider handles them. Everything is awful.

I'm constantly having to plunk though captchas for work (because everyone got stupid about bots a couple years ago...) & those hcaptchas are just the WORST looking things. I'm all for training up AI to eventually overthrow humanity drive cars real good & let tiny robots navigate stairs, but at this point, I should be getting paid to do it if I have to do it for every thing I've got to check. haha. Well, I'm just one more but I think it doesn't like my VPN so I tried blocking it with my AD blocker today and then it kicked me offline and disconnected my VPN. Does not play nice.

EDIT Today 6/10 cloudflare keeps checking my browser while I am trying to play games. When I checked online as to why it said the site has paid them to do so.

Yes it is harmless but very annoying, and is happening more often. It just leaves you hanging but after 5 seconds it has achieved it's purpose, then I refresh. Thank you for looking into this, but I think my VPN might be part of the issue.

Just got this for the first time when trying to edit my pet's profile... course it just wouldn't go away.... I think maybe I'm that blind and missed some but yeah can't edit.

For me, right now it only seems to be happening when I try to edit (or preview) a pet's description, and it happens every time. Because of this, I can't edit my pet descriptions. I tried Privacy Pass, and it didn't work. I'm using Firefox.

Edit: On my other computer, the captcha didn't pop up more than once, so I was able to update my pet descriptions :D

Aggravatingly, it would come up in Freyalise Trading Company only during "Restocked Now!" (but not when I would check the timer in between) three restocks in a row - so for about 12+ish (say 15?) minutes, and I haven't seen it since.

Freyalise does seem like the kind of place you'd want bot protection, but why does it only hit me every sixth minute when the shop stocks?! Not a certain number of clicks, just only when the shop stocked. I was also spamming the vending machine in between timers, which certainly could have contributed to my server hits, but I was still doing that after the Captchas had stopped.
