The timer was 10 minutes around half an hour ago, can we have some information about why it was increased?

I think that's because some people don't know you can do BOTH at the same time. I was just talking to a friend when the new cosmetics were announced and she had no clue she could be doing both, she assumed it was one or the other. I couldn't find any information in the original news post about mystery dances / info on them either so if there was info, it was probably buried somewhere =/

LOL well this will reduced ALL my dancing because I just use 1 timer (tried using two and it just got confusing). With dancing every 10 minutes for mystery, and dancing every 6-9 minutes for regular, I just dance regular dances every 10 minutes along with my mystery dance.

Now I'll just dance a regular dance every 15 minutes too. Fortunately I have plenty of tokens.

I am apparently one of those users who did not know you could have a mystery dance and invite a specific user to a dance during the same time block. I stuck to mystery dances because it's instant, plus the prizes are dope lol.

I think the Mystery Dance prizes are pretty OP and would have been ok with an even longer gap.

I agree that initially I didn't know you could do both, and with mystery dance prizes being so much better it makes more sense to prioritise those.

I'll also say that the forums are sometimes a tad laggy, making it hard to load threads, so people are less likely to seek new dances there if the forums are laggy (which may be why the post limit was reduced).

I don't see how the claim threads that don't load half the time are a "more social" version of mystery dances lmao

honestly just frustrated af that they added new achievements but didn't notify anyone they changed the wait time 3/4ths through the event...

At first, I thought being able to do both kinds of dances was an unintended exploit and avoided it for fear of getting in trouble - until I saw other people doing it and realized it was intentional.

I've been doing both for most of the event, but also agree that it should've been explicitly stated. When in doubt, spell it out!

When you don't have many/any friends, your options are dance with strangers at dances or never go to any dances.

I absolutely despise the increased time. I don't have that many friends still on Subeta and I almost always get skipped on the dance threads.

Basically, y'all just gave me incentive to try and get an achievement and then punished me in the same day so thanks?

i think letting users know through announcement that they can do both dances at the same time would help. i don't like the increased wait time either. it's already frustrating to have to deal with 7-9 minute wait times for the regular dancing.

i agree with Ying. the lag might be affecting the amount of regular dancing. i had to refresh the page once or a few times today when i want invite other users to dance bc sometimes the "inviting to dance" would just hang there.

One more voice for the "I didn't know I could do both" camp.

I don't have a lot of time this year, so I've just been dancing with friends or people who advertise on the forums. I don't have time to keep up with posting on the forums.

Speaking of which - there's a flaw in your logic , because the dance forums pretty much necessitate dancing with strangers.

It amuses me (not sarcastic, just a genuine chuckle) that the same day Subeta offers an incentive to do mystery dances, they make mystery dances harder to do.

I'm pretty sure I've never met a single person from here in RL, so I don't quite see how "less dancing with strangers" is an explanation. My dances have mostly been through forum claims or randomly dancing with people who pop up in chat or on random forum topics I'm visiting atm.

Plus, aren't our partners kind of supposed to be strangers as they're wearing masks and it's meant to be a mystery?

I could totally understand limiting the timer due to site speed/traffic issues, or if it was somehow being abused... I don't understand though why there wasn't a news post about the limit being increased (unless I missed it?) like there was with forum topic post limits.

That you don't go to a party to dance only with strangers is so silly when the event is a masquerade. Dancing with strangers is the point. That's why we have masks on and no usernames on the forums.

The increased wait time is a little annoying but I'm not timing my dances to the minute, so it doesn't personally effect me that much. The prizes are still good enough to be worth waiting for, and this isn't exactly incentivizing me to go socialize, or whatever I'm supposed to be doing besides mystery dances and claim threads.

I don't care if you make increase the timer. Could we at the very least get an alarm for this?! Please, an alarm feature.
