I have my owned CWs listed in my wishlist, if I make that section private then do a wishlist search in the pawn shop (when it opens), my owned items won't show, right or will they?

No worries. I guess I will just need to be even more vigil when buying. :)

I think that making a wishlist private only makes it so that other people can't see that section of your wishlist (like when they try to look it up to gift you something or whatever). But I think on your end, you will still see everything that's on your wishlist when you sort by wishlist only search, even if it's in a private section.

Best suggestion would be to do an account search before buying something, just to be sure. :)

is right. You should still see everything, including private categories. A quick account search before buying would be best.

Also, if you (or anyone else reading this) has CWs in hidden "buy for friends" category(s) - you can also do a WL search (on your WL page in top-left corner you can "search for item" and it will tell you what category that item is in on your WL. This is helpful if you're buying for multiple people but can't remember who wanted what and only have limited CSC to spend per person.

Can confirm 100% that and are correct. I have several "private" wishlists to show when/if certain items show up in my inventory that I don't want people buying for me. The highlight WL box shows up in specialty shops, inventory, user shops when I search by WL, in short everywhere. It doesn't look any different from the regular WL box.
