So today was just like any other day... until around 4:30.... I was getting my supper when suddenly I heard a massive cacophony of hisses, shrieks, growls and just all around bad noises... I frowned thinking something had spooked my kitten Evee... I ran upstairs and found him dangling from the window blinds by a back paw.... He got the string caught around his paw.
I managed to pick him up and free his paw, got some scratches and hisses thrown at me followed by Evee running and hiding.... but he was free and safe. I just needed to wait for him to calm down. I got his supper, he came down later, rubbed against my leg and he let me check him over. He is OK. His paw is a little sore but nothing is broken or in amiss and he's walking just fine.
I think he just scared himself more than anything... and scared me too. I guess he was playing with the blinds cord and went to jump down and got tangled.... well we will just keep that door closed as well as get new blinds so this doesn't happen again... This was the first time it ever happened by the way.
Gods how I hate Monday.... but it could have been so much worse.... I'm just beyond grateful Evee is fine!
Sorry for any typos.. I am using a tablet keyboard.
I can remember similar incidents with past cats. A more sad take was about an older female who was coughing for a few days. I wasn't able to get near until she was mewing in a discomforting way, she hadn't eaten I guess that last days. I couldn't ignore her excessive drooling, and I checked her mouth... She had a BIG toríto or thorny seed stuck on her tongue! She was very affectionate the remainder of the day, this was ages ago I fear to have completely forgotten all else.
This Monday sucks here too, it's been a windstorm and out here the dust is whipped up. This complicates my afternoon rounds with my livestock.
I am sorry that Monday sucked for both of you. I have had days like that, too. I have a friend who hates Mondays, and often says it.
Actually, my day was pretty good. I had a training for WRAP facilitators! I will someday be teaching others how to empower themselves using WRAP, which is Wellness Recovery Action Plan. It is a useful tool for just about anyone. It helps get things set in place for times of crises. I also worked for an hour of my normal 4-hour shift. I help staff a Warmline for those who have mental health and substance issues. Fun job! I get to empower my callers to improve their lives. I believe I have found my calling: the mental health field! It is truly gratifying for me to be able to help others with things I myself have dealt with.
Owned by a jet-black cat named Twilight! Meow!
That is the main reason we switched all the blinds in our house to the kind that don't have cords, because Ben Ben was absolutely apeshit as a kitten lol. He's 2 years old now and still kind of crazy, so it was a good investment, because I'd like to keep him around a good long while. Emma, my older cat, never bothered the blinds as a kitten.
Oh my gosh. Cats can get up to all kinds, eh? It boggles my mind at what they get into. I'm like wait, I didn't even think you'd get into that! XD
Years back now my kitten got hold of a bee.. This bee flew in the house and he caught it before we could waft it out. Sadly once he let the bee go, he was stung and his chin swelled up like a little balloon. It was SO cute tbh but of course right away I grabbed him and took the stinger out. Thankfully he let me and didn't fuss. He couldn't understand why he had a big chin, though. Shortly after the stinger was out, the swelling went down. So thankful he was ok! Hopefully that'll teach him but you know what, probably not because they'll go after anything that flies! :p

We rescued a little cat back at the end of 2019. Last year we all know what happened, lol, but at the same time with the shitstorm '20 was, we didn't have much bugs either -aka mosquitos, stink bugs, or any kind of other bugs. Nevertheless, in august or so, a stinkbug found its way into our apartment. Our older cats give no craps about insects flying. The oldest seems to think the gigantic ones that come in the bathroom sometimes, are either toys or friends and he purrs at them, while rolling on the floor. So, back to the stink bug. Remember we also have a little kitty, under 1 year old. Being the inexperienced cat she was, she chased the bug, managed to catch it and she ate it EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW She fast discovered it wasn't a good idea 😂 Well, then, another night, another stink bug came in - i think she still chased and caught it, but refrained from eating it 😂 Another night, a big bug came in the bathroom. I wasn't able to catch it so i said whatever, hoping it will go back to wherever it came from. Little did i know the little cat realized there's an intruder... She made herself busy and caught it. And presented it to fiance who was trying to relax... Guess who had to dispose of the bug corpse? yes, yours truly.
This little cat only managed to get herself into trouble and give us a good scare just once. I hung a big sheet in front of a window, to dry. Fiance opened THAT specific window and forgot it open -because of my sheet. In the morning, the little cat was nowhere to be found o.o! i ran downstairs (we live on the 5th floor on a very busy street and crossroads T-T). The chances for her to be found were pretty minimal at that point... But! There she was, turned into a ball, glued to the building, hoping to be found i suppose. She was just fine - we did go to the vet right away, had to pay a lot for Xrays, and everything but she was OK. I don't think she went near the window after that... If this happened to the other 2 cats... they run and hide, and don't really come when i call them.
I really have to update my blog ObscureJourney and my review site BeingObscure. French speakers can read my reviews here.
