I seem to remember a forum post somewhere with a list of custom CSS that you could just copy and paste bits of to tailer the site to your liking (things like moving the clock, hiding the postcards, putting floating items in red boxes, etc). I've manually searched for a little while but the forum search is still down so eh. Asking here. :)
