How old does a thread have to be before posting on it is considered a necro?

Or, more accurately, how recent should the last comment on that thread be?
I know certain subforums just naturally move slower due to low activity, so I'm curious if there's a rule of thumb to tell how far back is too far. I get paranoid that I'm gonna make a faux pas if I comment on something that hasn't seen attention in a while.

The necro limit was upped to 6 months earlier. This is right on the end of that limit so it looks like it&;s ok since the last reply was from August of last year.
I looked high and low for an answer and missed this post. Thank you!

You can find the Rules page either by going to the "Subeta" tab and clicking "Help" -- it has multiple resources on the next page -- OR it's also linked down in the footer of each page. Just so you know! (It's easy to forget these things!)
