So while I was looking at my user options today, I found out that you can in fact opt out of being given Buddy GAs if you would rather not have users give them to you.
First of all, I would like to say thanks for including this, because I've had a few users give me Buddy GAs which won't be of much use to me as long as I'm subscribed, and I've been too polite to tell them I didn't really need them and that they could have given them to someone else.
Secondly, I would like to ask why this hasn't been mentioned anywhere? I haven't seen it in the news or anything, was there a forum post that I missed? Because I only just discovered it today, and I think it would be really helpful if more users knew about it so they can opt out if they either have a subscription which makes it meaningless, or they just don't want to be given a GA against their will unless it's a medal they can activate at any time. I personally feel reluctant to give out Buddy GAs because some users might not want to stay for a while and I don't want to "trap" them by making them feel obligated to stay until their GA runs out, so I only give them to users who say that their GAs are running out soon, or that they would like one.
Maybe there should be a news post that explains it, but new or returning users might miss that. Maybe it could be in the Buddy GA alert instead? That way, even though they'll be given one, they can prevent themselves from getting more?
And/or perhaps a mention on the Buddy GA page in the cash shop? I imagine that's a page you would end up on if you were thinking about purchasing a GA, or if you were specifically looking for information about the Buddy GA (including how to opt-out).
