When your pet wins the spotlight, does it freeze you from ever being able to edit the page again afterward?

Also: if your pet has a friend you want to link to, but the friend-pet page is incomplete, will it cause your spotlight pet to lose its nomination?

Asking because I made a pet to be a pair with my other pet, and I'd like to have each link to each other in the end--but the second pet isn't yet quite finished. Would it be better then, not to link to the unfinished pet at all? Or does it only count the pet that is nominated/complete?

You can have as many unfinished pet friend pages as you want. I get for an interlinked story it makes it more fun to be able to go to that pet and read more. But for the exact nomination it is only the pet nominated that needs a full page.

As for changes made. I think you'll have to look it up, but best to my knowledge its best to not change anything unless it centers paragrahs better or simple things like changing a border from black to white.

Thanks for the tip. If I change Raiya's page at this point it would just be to link Kimba at the bottom of my third section. I just wasn't sure if it would be impossible to edit again after winning the spotlight (not that I'm counting my chickens before they hatch, just checking since I was curious). Kimba isn't fully ready yet so I wasn't sure if it would count against Raiya if I linked him.

I think after they win it is free game to redo any and everything without worry. I just know when in the que for selection minimal to no changes should be made just to help keep it easier.

After a pet wins the spotlight the trophy is attached to it forever, I’m pretty sure even if the pet is transferred. You can make any changes to the profile, even completely delete the code, and the trophy will still be there.

Having an incomplete pet friend seems to be fine, I’ve seen past winners with friends linked that just have a little work done (and I personally feel like it still adds to the story!)

Since your pet is nominated though, you shouldn’t make any edits to the code yet! I don’t remember where I saw this D: but I believe if the profile is in the queue and the code is edited, it gets sent back to the first review.

I did end up having to change the code a bit purely because of the attached minion--I didn't realize using the kanji for "love" would make it against the rules, and it was mentioned in tab three of the profile, so it was necessary to update it. I don't even know what stage of review she was in, though! I hope it will be okay now to go through the process.

The reason we can't use kanji in pet pages is because we are only allowed to use English in all public places onsite except in sMails. I'm not sure why the rule itself doesn't mention pet pages, but it is included in the rule:

So while you technically could put kanji on your pets page (I have a non spotlight pet with a hiragana name on it's page, but I have not ever publicly shown that pet nor will it be entered in the spotlight until I remove the hiragana), if you plan to go for the pet spotlight you will not meet criteria because you are breaking the site rules by having another language on their page.

Oh, I really appreciate this! I had the translation for the butterfly's name on tab III of my pet's profile. It was the name of her minion. Would that have been okay after all? It definitely wasn't inappropriate; it was the kanji for "Love" in Japanese <3

That's great! Maybe I should change it back then... haha, I know it'll push me back to the end of the queue, but I thought it was neat. Is there any chance that the other judges for the thing would see it and instantly dismiss my pet though without checking the tabs?

Is it okay to ask you if my pet page checks out as it is now, then? ^^; I tried to make sure everything was properly credited and all, that was why I got rejected last time because of the gifs involved. I had thought that it went without saying, but now I have it stated where they come from. Hopefully it's all good now
