O-hai-o! ^_^ I was just wondering if anyone was still active in this category? I love discussing anime but I see most threads are old af or not really active anymore so I made my own! I'd love to discuss current watches, faves, ones you hate that others seem to love, viewing platforms you use, etc etc... just over here tryna UwU at some potential new animaidens/weebs in general.

My fave animes of all time are Naruto (this includes Shippuden!) && the entirity of the Fate series (inlcuding the spinoff arcs). I have watched A LOT of anime over the years but am always looking for new ones!

I'm sooo behind on my anime! The only thing I'm currently watching is Attack on Titan.

I have a love/hate relationship with Naruto, but I did mostly watch through all of it. I never got into the Fate series.

I am excited about the next series of My Hero Academia that's supposed to start the end of next month!

Hi~ I'm isekai trash. My beau and I have been all over watching/reading stuff from the isekai/reincarnation genre lately, haha~ We've finally gotten around to starting on the new season of That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime. Not gonna spoil anything, but I'm already seeing red over the antagonists, ugh. SUPER excited for the next season of Rising of the Shield Hero! I saw some ads about it that were printed in the magazine that serializes it, and I think it's supposed to be coming this year, and I am SO. HYPE. for it. The anime for Noblesse is great, too. I need to catch up on it, I got busy and haven't watched it in a while. ;w;

I watched Noblesse a little out of order; the series came up on VRV and I watched the first episode before I went back and tracked down the OVA. >>; (So many things made WAY more sense after watching the OVA, haha~ ) I'm in the middle of SO many isekai series right now, like, all of the animators really brought their A-game this season for isekai, it's a little hard trying to keep up with everything because it's just all so good! Even FunimationNow has had some good stuff (Jobless Reincarnation is FANTASTIC), which is a bit surprising (other than a few specific titles and old series like Trinity Blood, we don't use FunimationNow a lot, VRV tends to have the better selection) but it's also exciting, helps justify paying for both services.

Back after a month & a half, sorry everyone! Was moving around too much to be active like I wanted.

I feel like I'm behind as well now, I haven't seen the start of the newest season of MHA but I'm hype for it! I also have not been keeping up with ATOT. I haven't been keeping up with the manga so the newest season just erks me for that reason, same with The Promised Neverland.

I started watching Noblesse a few months ago but stopped, same with That Time I Got Reincarnated As Slime. I didn't really keep up on genres until recently, I'm finding that I prefer "Slice of Life" animes rn. What are some of your favorite isekai animes? I'd love to check them out! I'm super duper excited for the new season of Shield Hero bc Raphtalia Senpai insert heart eyes here

Hello! we can deff be friends! I'm always down to chat when I'm on here!

Oh boy, my favorite isekai titles, it's quite the list, I'm not even sure I remember the names of all the ones I've watched... (Sorry for the length, probably you expected an actual list, instead I give you a novel. ;w; ) The new season for That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime is GREAT, so if you get time and want to go back to it, I definitely recommend it! The antagonists this season are, ugh, I hate them, but the season is still good! I think the first isekai I ever watched was No Game No Life, and it's still absolutely one of my favorite anime, I adore the characters (my beau and I even cosplayed the two main characters, I still have the shirt I painted for Sora and all of my costume pieces for Shiro, haha~). It never got another season, though, so the ending of the anime leaves a lot to be desired. One of our current watches on Funimation's streaming service is Jobless Reincarnation, and it's REALLY good! I missed some of the intro episodes (my beau has a bad habit of watching stuff without me, ha~), but it was actually easy to jump into despite that. I actually wasn't entirely sure of the main character at first, he felt a little... over the top, but he's grown on me as his character has grown. Probably one of the best parts of it so far, actually, is watching all of the characters grow. Arifureta is a good one, too. I missed... a LOT of the beginning of it (I think I started watching it with my beau about halfway through the first season, maybe a bit later?), but I loved what I got to watch! Some of the characters are kinda ehhh for me (antagonists, mostly), but the main characters are fun! I'm especially fond of the way their abilities evolve and grow. Demon Lord, Retry! is another one with a lackluster ending because it didn't get another season, but I still enjoyed it. The main character is just so unapologetically himself and I LOVE it. It's got a decent amount of comedy thrown in, too, if you're into that kind of thing. How Not to Summon a Demon Lord also deserves a space on the list, especially since it'll be getting a new season soon. Its greatest downfall is probably that it's pretty... fanservice-y, and while I'm one hundred percent fine with that, others definitely aren't, so depending on which side of the issue your views land, it may be something to skip. ^^; My beau wants to add So I'm a Spider, so What? to the list. I've only watched one episode of it (and that wasn't even the first episode), so I don't really have a fully formed opinion on it yet, but I do know the animation is spectacular, if nothing else! (Also, my beau and I watch pretty much all the same stuff, so the recommendation comes on good authority for me, haha~) Oh! And while this one isn't exactly isekai in the truest sense of the word, Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-kun! is absolutely worth a try, it's REALLY high up on my list of favorite anime. It's kind of fantasy slice of life-ish with a heavy dose of comedy. It doesn't really treat itself too seriously, but that's part of the charm for me! (Clara is practically my spirit animal, I love her.)

okay so I'm super thrilled to admit I have watched quite a few of those && enjoy that genre! So I'm A Spider, So What? Has actually become one of my favorites! I have to catch up on the latest episode but it's just seriously the cutest ever!

I love that you wrote a novel btw! I don't mind fan servicy animes ngl, I actually enjoy ze zesty stuff more. I watched Welcome to Demon School && loved it, so did my husband! We binged it upon discovery && I wish it had more seasons :( I love Clara too!

I started Jobless Reincarnation but fell off in light of getting into Sk8 && working 7 days a week cries

I've purposely avoided Your Lie in April && No Game No Life ngl people are pretty intense when it comes to those two so I;ve shoved them on the wait list.

I honestly don't think I'll be able to settle in more so because this is a stepping stone move if that makes sense, my husband && I are currently trying to save for our own space.

I don't think I'm watching anything upcoming or even new right now besides So I'm A Spider, So What? && will eventually start the new season of MHA, Oh && I am holding off on watching the last episode of Black Clover (my heart can't take it) && I am a Boruto Stan always (Kawaki-kun can deff get it any day fans self)

I am super excited for the return of quite a few animes, it actually makes me super emotional how everything is ending && flourishing at the same time! I am most excited && dreading the new season of Fruits Basket, I feel that ending is gonna tear my soul apart.

Talking to you both has me wanting to check up on all my apps && update myanimelist so I can keep better track of things, I feel all I do anymore is work, stress && sleep, deff need to add more anime into that mix.

Oh boy, I'm glad you're fine with the amount I wrote! I have a hard time cutting myself off and am always super wordy, and I know there are people out there like "Okay, give me the tl;dr, I'm not here to read for a literature class." I don't go out hunting for, ah, "spicy" stuff, but it shows up in a lot of anime my beau and I watch, haha~ (After thinking about it for a bit, half the anime in my list have fanservice moments, though most of them aren't super blatant about it like How Not to Summon a Demon Lord.) I KNOW I have more isekai that we've watched, but some of them are, like, kinda niche and just not very popular, so without literally looking through our entire watch history, I have a hard time placing their titles. ;w; (Plus some of them exist in a kind of gray area where they're not exactly isekai. Plunderer is one of those anime. I love it, but the genre is a little fuzzy. Reincarnation? Isekai? Both? Neither??? The Anime News Network encyclopedia just lists it as fantasy, action, and romance, which honestly leaves me even more confused.) Oof, I definitely get you on avoiding stuff because of people being intense about it. (I don't know that I'll ever watch My Hero Academia, my friends are absolutely rabid over it and just won't ever shut up about it, which totally turned me off from it even though the premise sounds interesting and I like the character designs well enough. The Daily Life with Monster Girls has suffered the same fate; it SOUNDS good and it LOOKS good, but my friends and the fan base are, ehhh... I couldn't even THINK about Fairy Tail until the manga officially ended and the fan hype finally calmed down.) I was lucky with No Game No Life, I guess, because literally no one I knew was into it when I started watching it. Ooh, I just remembered a kinda old-school anime that I should have suggested in my earlier post! Angel Beats is another one that's sort of fuzzy on genre, but if I stretch the meaning of isekai, it kind of fits? I LOVE this anime, it's funny, it's sometimes sad, the characters are fantastic. The ending DID make an entire room of college guys cry, though, so maybe be prepared for some tears. It's a GOOD ending, though! (And, honestly, I cried more over Assassination Classroom than I did over Angel Beats (and I had ruined the ending of Assassination Classroom for myself already), so it's not TOO sad, it strikes a pretty good balance.)

I stopped Assassination Classroom about halfway through so maybe that's what I'll binge this weekend since I finally have some time off. && I too kept away from MHA for so long because of how intense the fandom is, but thankfully I didn't fall victim to all that, I find the anime to be in the average but moving area. I started watching Angel Beats, it's pretty cool but I kinda zoned out halfway through.

I honestly wish there would be a random release of new horror animes, I miss the good old days of not knowing anything && discovering all the new to me, horror animes && I feel like the hype for them has dyed down && it sucks.

I love lengthy pieces, I tend to ramble a lot myself espcially when excited

My beau has watched Assassination Classroom through, like, three times, and I think has read the manga through twice. I haven't watched it exactly all the way through, but I've seen almost all of it, I just got distracted in a few odd episodes. I literally bawled over the ending. I think my beau has cried over the ending every time. I'd have been mad that my beau didn't warn me I'd end up ugly sobbing over it, but I literally already knew the ending (I wasn't certain I'd ever finish it, so I just... read about the end. >>; ) and still cried... Ah, I get that about Angel Beats. Even though I love it, I can admit that a lot of middle episodes feel like filler fluff. (I had similar feelings about Madoka Magica when I watched it, honestly. Well, that and disappointment, the friend I watched it with had hyped it up a lot, but it wasn't all she made it out to be for me.) Ahh, horror is one genre I don't really do. ;w; I mean, if an anime is mainly some other genre and happens to have horror thrown into it, maybe, but real life is scary enough for me, I don't seek out scary things on my leisure time usually, haha~ There was one my beau watched recently, Darwin's Game, a sort of "killing game" anime, and it isn't even really horror at all, but it was too much for me. ;w; (I felt bad, my beau seemed to like it, but I just couldn't do it.)

just wanna start by saying I am OBSESSED with Darwin's Game, ready to name my child after Amari Senpai - && I can understand why it's too much for some, there is a lot of.. moments.. I plan to get a Sunset Ravens tattoo at some point too.

Oof I am definetly binging Assassination Classroom for the next two days, I could use a good crying sesh, I feel it's a perfectly balanced anime tbh from what I do remember, at least for me. && I couldn't get into Madoka Magica either, everyone was hyping it up so I was like cool imma watch this, see what it's about, neurp! was not able to make myself watch more than a few episodes.

Ahh, I TRIED to like Darwin's Game, I really did! I mean, I LOVE Danganronpa (games, spin-offs, and anime), and Darwin's Game follows a similar premise, so I feel like I SHOULD have liked it, but it was just so intense. The protagonist seemed pretty interesting, though, from what little I managed to watch. (For a clueless person just tossed into the situation with zero information, I have to say he did a good job handling it.) Oh, it's so nice to meet someone that also couldn't get the hype over Madoka Magica! It just kind of exploded, and so many people I knew were BATS over it, and just, it wasn't that great? I know I watched all of it when I was in uni, but that was mostly just to spend time away from my roommates and hang out with a friend. If I had been watching it on my own time, I feel fairly certain I never would have finished it. So much of it was just... trite and cliched. The characters weren't even all that unique; they reminded of the cast of Card Captor Sakura and Tokyo Mew Mew.

ANYWAYS the anime was The Seven Knights Revolution, have you seen it? It's very interesting to me.

Anime is hit or miss with me but I do want to try and watch it more often.

I love the idea of Isekai anime since fantasy is like my biggest go to but I like anything with a decent story. Or at the very least, a cool world!

I'm currently watching "A Certain Magical Index" and do want to watch "Overlord" fully. I've also seen most of "Welcome to Demon School Iruma-Kun" and loved it! I need to finish it. OTL

Ahhh, Furuba, I haven't watched the new version of the anime. I like the old one well enough, and read a good deal of the manga, so I haven't felt like I need to add the new beast to my watchlist. ('Cause WOW it's way longer than the old anime, so I'm guessing it actually follows the manga this time around.) I had to look up that Seven Knights Revolution. It literally JUST started airing, and my beau and I don't usually do anime on Mondays. I might give it a try later when we're caught up on our other watches (we're currently binging Hortensia Saga in addition to everything else we watch regularly; it's good, it's not really achieving greatness, in my opinion, but I'm still at least half watching it, so I can't call it bad). It looks like it's based on a game (as, apparently, is Hortensia Saga), and the only game-to-anime I know of that I've ever truly loved was Danganronpa, so I'm tempering my expectations. ^^; (I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.)
