So I don't know how long has it been but if I remember correctly there was something about that Shengui Guo was going to get a Teahouse and now it's 2021 . I was wondering will this be a thing or was this idea dropped

This May, it will be 4 years.

At this point I don't think we will get it. :(

As far as I can tell, this was the most recent update on it (from June 2019). It's being worked on, just slow going I guess. Probably even slower now with limited staff availability since the pandemic.

The Teahouse - An Update

I'm still wondering about the other projects that were voted on during that event, the gardens update and Centropolis lower west side map. Those have been held up for a long time too because of the delays with the teahouse and whatever else. :c

I have the feeling we might get New Subeta before any big new features, which will probably be a good thing in the long run cuz then they won’t have to re-write all the code for those pages.

Subeta really has a bad habit of starting projects and coming up with more and more and more and more ideas for it so they just keep working on it for what feels forever. For staff, it might feel like its coming along because they know what's going on.

But for us, there's nothing but seemingly empty promises.

Granted, 2020 was a shit show for everybody and 2021 isn't much better, but the habit existed before that.

Oh golly gosh, I remember this! It would be a fun thing to have.

I think they should just ignore the vote and release the Centropolis Lower West Side Map first even though that came in last place. And the Garden revamp, but that might be saved for Subeta V2. In fact, the reason I haven't used the Gardens in ages is because I don't like the lack of ability to set an alert right now, which I feel like the new version will have.

I just don't like that the votes have caused those two to be delayed, especially since some people have said that they wouldn't have voted for the Teahouse if they knew it would take this long. If the staff are that insistent about the order, maybe they should hold another vote to decide if people want to keep waiting or if they should release those before the Teahouse. It could even be another SP sink during Vesnali (speaking of which, is anyone going to start a suggestion thread soon?).

Too bad they never went through with it.

Is there anything you can share that wouldn't spoil the plans too much? We have one teaser image once upon a time and that's all we got to see for something that has been in the works for 4 years.

"We're working on it" is also a broken record at this point.

I honestly haven't been super involved with it, because while focused on it I made sure to do the day to day content. So I'm snooping right now and here are three different sneakpeaks:

Are you still going to follow the vote, or are you going to either release the Garden Revamp and Lower West Side map first anyway (assuming they're either done already or easy to do), or hold another vote? That's my only issue with the Tea House taking so long.

EDIT: Those new NPCs look interesting (although for some reason I assumed the unknown person that Esther an Emma were referring to who wanted to open it was older). I wonder if maybe we'll get a bit more lore about Shengui Guo and their native race(s).

Garden hasn't been worked on, and I think the west side map was assigned to someone but again! I've focused more on day to day or holiday while was in charge of large projects. I am very glad she is coming back/is slowly back
