I support red squirrels. The grey squirrel is invasive alien specie was first reported in Piedmont (the italian region where I live) in 1948. Grey squirrel is larger and more territorial and in direct competition with the red squirrel, the species that has populated Europe from almost always. Grey squirrels are also healthy carriers of a virus that kills the red squirrel which, added to the stealing of food, condemns the red squirrel to probable extinction.
