I always seem to have SOME private CWs on my wishlist without knowing. But even if i want to see if i can get permission I dont know where to start. Has someone made a list?

There's no complete list (or even partial) list, as far as I know. With the new CW Directory you can at least look up the CWs you're interested in individually to find the releaser of the item, who will be able to answer your question about status if they're still active on site.

I would also assume that the list will be incomplete for a good while because my CWs, that I still have copies of in my vault, that were created before the "new" new CW system purged my CWs from existence on site.

As in they don't show period in the search now. I'm only mentioning this because I think there's some others who are in the same boat as I am.

It isn't like you're going to get into trouble for having a private CW on your WL.

If you have CWs that don't show up in the directory, you should definitely file a ticket and report that. I checked a handful of random old CWs from different CWs, and they all showed up - but that's by no means exhaustive. So I assume anything that doesn't show up is some kind of bug. If they can figure out the bug with your releases, maybe the fix will apply to anyone whose releases are bugged/don't show up.

And no, won't get in trouble for having something on their WL, but having status info about their WL items might help them find or gain access to some items they want.

I searched the names and nothing came up, lmao. Now I just feel/look like an idiot.

No worries!! Maybe when you searched them there was some weird glitch or Bug was actively working on things, sometimes that makes site stuff malfunction. Who knows! But if that's all your stuff then at least you know that it's working now. :)

I am not sure, but I think you can not even get into trouble for owning a private. I have had the luck to buy two CWs out of the CW pawn shop - and both wrere private (I didn't know that)

As the releasers came up, I offered to hand them back over, BUT I could keep both. They are both in a pet TC - so no I will not trade/sell them

I do not think anyone could have make me ive them back - but usually private means that you agree to sell back to the releaser if you do not want the CW anymore. Or that only certain people in a certain group can have them

But I am not sure about how CW pawn shop items are handled. I did not do anything against the rules buying there.
