Hi everyone! Not sure if this is a bug or intentional.

So I noticed that the search Subeta option for pet names seems to have changed? When I used to input a name it showed all of pets with that name along with pictures of the pet/species on one page. And now, it brings up a dropdown with just the names. However, it only shows the names of pets that have that word within the name?

For example: Searching for "Autumn" brings up a dropdown that only has pets with names like "Autumn Echo" and "Autumn Whisper". But I can't see all of the actual pets with the name "Autumn"?

Again, not sure if this is a bug or intentional so I shared it here vs the suggestions section. But would love to have the search function changed back to just displaying all of the pets, along with their images, on one page if it was intentional!

As an additional to that, if I search the pet name Paddy, I get both pets called Paddy show in the drop down (although I too prefer the list showing the pet images, as that was much easier to navigate!). But searching for "Anyu" just gives me pets with 'anyu' in their name, rather than showing

Also, searching for "11" just doesn't give any results at all, even though I know there is

It seems to be random which pets show in the list, and which don't, so I'm guessing this is a bug rather than intentional!

I noticed this too, and it took me a solid minute to even get it to search because it would fill in the name and then just not do anything. I was confused but finally got it to work when I selected the name out of the drop down list with my mouse.

When they changed to non-unique pet names, it broke the old search. They completely got rid of the old search. People complained about the lack. said they were working on making a proper search engine, but it would take a while since it wasn't a simple thing to do and they had a lot of higher priority things they were working on.

As a compromise made a simplified search that doesn't really work as it should, but is at least semi-usable. The proper search is on their to do list, but it will take a while.

I remember this! If I remember right, their original quick, simplified search actually showed you a table that displayed all of the pet names that share the same name along with the colour and species of said pet instead of images of all of the pets prior to the non-unique name change.

However, it's not like that anymore. When I try searching "autumn" in the search bar, all it brings up is a drop down of a few of names that use "autumn" in the name but not "autumn" itself, or all of the pets that use "autumn" in their names. It doesn't ever bring up my own "autumn" or even the legacy named "autumn". 🤔

Edit to add: Much prefer the original "quick and dirty" search function that just showed a table featuring all of the pets sharing that name vs this drop-down method that auto-fills for you and doesn't display all of the pets sharing the name.

(I guess this is kind of a suggestion but I just wasn't sure if this new search function drop down feature was intentional or a bug.)

Oh! So this more inline with that other thread (! search function is not working correct. From what I gather the searches must have been changed yesterday or early today.

You know, it could be! I almost posted there but since OP was talking more about shop search functions I wasn't sure if I should so I made a separate thread.
