It used to be that when you used a gender berry on a genderless pet, it would change the gender by default to male.

I seem to remember a suggestion thread a while back to get this changed, but I can't seem to find it and may be imagining things.

Does the gender berry still operate this way on genderless pets? Or do we now have a choice of which gender they end up with?

I have several pets that need gender changes, and I'm trying to calculate exactly how many berries I need.

I doubt this has been changed to a choice option currently.

I know the official FAQ is pretty outdated but in the pet section there is the question "How can I change my pet's gender?". In the answer "If your pet is Genderless and you use a Gender Berry, it will become a random gender." Maybe this random isn't working or RNG is being weird or something. (made a list of things on it that is outdated haven't gotten around to posting it though)

Ah, thank you for that link! It looks like it hasn't gotten any traction since this summer. I guess it's time to see what's up.

[Edit]I see this is in the item section, which is why I couldn't find it. I was thinking it had more to do with pets. (But it being an item, that makes sense.)
