I've been here a lil over a week so I figured I should finally make one of these introduction posts, especially before I post anywhere else. I'm Venus, late 20s, she/her, born & raised in California. I like video games, books, sci-fi, activism, rpgs, cats, nostalgia, fantasy, & occultism/mysticism. Migrated from Neo; I'm still active there but I wanted something more to do since, like a lot of people, I've been on my computer all the time lately. My area's still pretty locked down so here I am!

Any tips, things I should know that aren't immediately apparent, things to spend time on/not waste time on? I like it a lot here but I'm still getting my bearings & still pretty clueless aside from the dailies. There's so much I don't know that I can't pinpoint where to start. I feel like there's important things I should be doing but I don't know what lol

Also, are there any plots/plot-like quests I can do now? Or are the plots in real time & once they're over, they're done?

Welcome to Subeta!!! Hope you like it here. There is always so many different routes you can take. I like to buy and sell things so I do my daily quests and use vending machines. I am also a collector of things so I love to see how many achievements I can get. I have a friend who competes with me to see who can get the most achievements. You can look into upgrading your pets if that is something you think you would like.. I have never been good at battling pets. You can pretty much just do anything you want. There is no right or wrong way. If you have any questions, feel free to message me!

as the persons posting before me already saud - questing is one way to start you can sell the items you get or use them plus questing gives you subetapoints

as for events - plozs and so on Events are more or less tied to seasonal occasions - right now we have fireside (always around thanksgiving) and i december we will have luminaire - with a calende that gives you daily free stuff.

Plots happen around the site and will be announced in the new, so usually they are hard to miss

as for me, beside questing I love to train my pets - since we can battle on here and collect special things in their treasucre chests Also alsways working on their profiles

AND I am very addicted to CWs (clothes/makeup and so on) we can sort of get onside on our own - And which I love a lot since those items make my HA look different XXD

I really like the concept of the vending machines as well, I've been spending waaayy too many wizard tokens on them when I know I should probably be saving them lmao

Are the Omen Islands hard to unlock? I know you need to collect treasure map pieces, are those difficult to come by? I keep having to forfeit Shinwa's quests bc she wants me to do a quest for the dude there lmao

So plots are a one time deal? There aren't past plots I can do now? I expected as much tbh. I get that plots on these types of sites are essentially parts of lore history & usually time sensitive. Looking forward to the next plot! :D

Also, it sounds like you battle a bit. I've been trying to do that but my poor pet keeps getting wrecked by the easiest opponents. Is there a good initial level for stats to shoot for when starting out?

Since you mentioned pet's treasure chests, what kind of things do you put in them? Is it purely for pet aesthetic or to serve as a gallery?

I've definitely gotten addicted to getting wardrobe items & dressing up my HA. There's so much cool stuff & so many options, especially since you can layer them!

Yeah, I got into doing the quests daily right away & I love the ease of them! It seems like a lot at first bc there's so many but you get into this easy rhythm. The sidebar has saved my life too since I keep getting lost not remembering where things are yet xD

I see Luminaire is this month! Do you think the Mysterious Melody gift exchange is too much for a new player? Like I don't have a ton of money but it'd be cool to take part. I just don't wanna go broke or spend too little for a gift lol. Would it be better to just plan doing that particular activity next year?

Welcome to Subeta! Love you username XD people usually buy Omem Islands Map pieces actually, they aren't that expensive if you make quests daily :) I hope you enjoy Lumi!

The blue building takes a bit but its pretty cool once you gain access.

Quests will be your key to making a bunch of sP as quick as possible. You can sell the items you get plus you also get sP for doing quests. My favorite are Saggitarius but I can't remember if he is open at the beginning. His quests cost more to do but he also gives out larger sP. Wizard would be my second. You can use his tokens for the Token Shop . It gets restocked every once in a while with more rare items :)

Omen islands isn't hard to access. It just requires you to complete the Uncharted Land Map set which has 9 pieces. but they don't come around often anymore. If you can eventually fork out sP for the pieces you would be set. Do you have any of the pieces yet? Shinwa items are really nice to sell also or keep for bettling if you want them. Most of her items sell quickly too.

as for battling: help Forum your pet needs weapons and the best thing is to change them once you reach a new "tier" - which is combined from strengh, defense and health I think

I try to train my pets "even" and also train Speed and intelligence, since there are scrolls you can use and you get ponits for reading books

and yes, I love the wardrobe, also!

and yes, pet treasure chests are sort of a gallery

I totally get that feeling! That's how NP is for me. I may not have played for 15+ years straight but I always come back every few years. It really feels like you grow up with these sites & I'm so glad they're still kicking right now.

I know! It's already so easy to auto-pilot the quests, I don't even have to think about it anymore. There's very little brain power involved which is what I need by the time I get around to them bc it's typically like 4am haha. I know what you mean, I usually have to keep 20 tabs open to remember what I'm doing. Every time I went to the Fireside bonfire, I had 30 things to turn in bc I kept forgetting. The sidebar & the bookmarks make life so much easier.

Okay so there is a market for the stuff you get from quests you don't want? I was worried it'd come off like I was selling junk since they're so easy to obtain lol.

Saggittarius's quests have been really carrying me. I was concerned by how expensive the items he asks for are but it always makes up for it & I end up having a lot more than I started with :)

Nooo. I have a couple of the Original Map Pieces but that's not the same thing, right? I'm about to start scouring the shops bc it bugs me there's quests I can't do lol. Is there an NPC shop to keep an eye on for the map pieces or should I be looking at player shops exclusively?

Ahh, gotcha. I haven't been paying much attention to the weapons I've been using so now I'm thinking that's a big part of my issue. Plus, I'm still so new at this that I should probably just be focusing on training up vs fighting a ton [I]right away[/I]. Tiers take a while to train up to, don't they?

yes, they do, but there are always smaller pponents that can be beaten by smaller tiers. but yes, training comes in handy

The goes around 2mil and the is around 250k ,if I remember well they are around 100k-3mil, but you can get a discont if you post in the forums you are looking to buy them :)

That's exactly why I mentioned I'm a fan of nostalgia in my intro! I love unearthing old things you thought were lost forever & getting that homey feeling. There’s usually more people than you’d expect that feel the same. It is sad thinking about all the plots & important events you missed though. It's part of history on these sites!

Omg it was such a pain going through them one at a time & god help you if you zone out & accidentally throw in a ‘wreathed’ item lmao. It was terrible bc I’m already eternally at war with my inventory limit & they bombard you with Fireside goodies (not that that's a bad thing!). Hey, you never know what can come in handy later! I can definitely relate to that! My area's been decently heavy in lockdown since March so there hasn't really been a whole lot going on in my life aside from online classes & this weird quarantine nothingness. Old & new escapes like this have really helped keep my mental health above water & me from thinking too much about how the last years of my 20s are being spent pretty isolated. Me too!! The Subetapedia is criminally lacking as it is & I couldn't find much info at all online about past plots. A lot of the links from SubetaLodge just take you to the news page which I know means they're broken links. I don’t even think Subetapedia has an entry on my pet’s species 😭
