Hiya! My name is Krystal, I am a 27yr old female :3

I'm currently self-teaching myself Japanese (I only speak English), and was wondering if anyone else here on Subeta is learning either Japanese or another language? This thread can be great for helping each other out!~ <3

Not studying anything right now but once covid has chilled, I plan to take weekend classes to learn japanese. I've been meaning to for years now and I don't want to put if off anymore haha. Might take them at my local university just to try their 'summer school' program and go abroad. Otherwise, I speak french and english on the regular.

I dabble in trying to teach myself Japanese. I've a few books here and there, but my biggest tool has been the Lingodeer app. It is a little hard for me to stay on track. I still would really love to be able to read the language. If not speak it half way decently.

To clarify, keeping on track has nothing to do with the app. I love that thing to bits. It's just my finite time and a plethora of hobbies and dreams to where I'm spread a little too thin.

Currently learning Japanese and Norwegian! Japanese grammar is crazy-hard to learn, and there aren’t many good apps out there that do writing drills, so I can’t write any of the characters. My friend, who took some Japanese lessons in undergrad, gave me some of her old textbooks though, so I can share those lessons with anyone who wants them.

To any native English-speaker that wants to learn a new language just for fun, try Norwegian. It’s common on language learning apps and is one of the easiest languages to learn, if not THE easiest
