I work in my University's IT department and I routinely help instructors and students with using online resources for their classes, and we have an entire department devoted to helping just instructors with teaching online. There have been successful online classes for at least a decade now, but the instructors in the architecture and urban planning programs are the worst to work with and doing the worst job of structuring their classes online. I even tried going through the resource center for accessibility this year (for the first time) to get documentation of my adhd, depression, and health junk affecting my ability to keep up, but the biggest issue 100% is the instructors failing to use the tools that have been at their disposal for a decade. I'm so tired and I'm just trying to keep myself grounded and motivated to make it through the rest of the semester. Someone I've spoken to in another department has agreed that the urban planning/architecture faculty have been the worst to work with because they just don't listen, even when they're not arrogant.

This is exhausting and stressful and ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

I am proud of you for sticking with it. I don't have ADHD, but I have mental illness issues, as well. It can be tough to keep a job when your illness flares. I know firsthand how that feels.

I don't understand why the faculty won't use the tools that are there for them. It's there to make things easier, not harder. And yet people still just refuse to embrace technology. I know a lot of people who don't know a lot about technology. I feel it is my mission to help them learn.

Anyhow, I just wanted you to know that I support you in your job and hope that you find a way to keep going.
