ooooo I had to try this by Makani My favorite thing about Halloween is food! Halloween starts of food season for me, with special things to eat all through October, November, and December. The food and the joy of sharing food is what this season means for me and I love it!

What's some of your favorite special foods to have during this Season? Anything unusual/unique?

My absolute favorite has to be my mother-in-law's sweet bean buns. She uses a recipe for Hamentashen but the filling is either sweet red bean or a sweet poppy seed mixture. Delicious with butter for breakfast!

The best part about me for these though, is that I got to help adapt the tradition. I love sweet red bean, which is something of an acquired taste, but my mother in law wanted something I would really like for Christmas and agreed to try it. It was a hit with my spouse's sister and her husband, so now they make lots of them every year.

My favourite part of fall and Halloween is the beautiful colours! My drive to and from work gets extra lovely in the fall when all the leaves on the trees change to red and golden, and I love getting to appreciate it every day! The cooler weather is also a bonus, because I'm definitely a sweater weather kind of person :) Fall is such a lovely season for spending time outside, and I love that Halloween falls during it!

My favorite thing about Halloween is the costumes! I love answering the door and seeing the kids go all out. Whether its a cheap store bought plastic thing to an elaborate homemade creation doesn't matter :). Scary, gory, cute, silly, funny or even punny, I love it all. by Lypsyl
